From Vietnam to Laos
Before departure, passengers need to fully prepare the necessary documents required for flying from Vietnam to international destinations, such as air tickets, valid passports, and forms of identification.
Passengers of the following nationalities entering Laos:
- China (CHN)
- Malaysia (MYS)
- Indonesia (IDN)
- Republic of Korea (KOR)
Information for passengers entering Laos:
According to the Lao authorities, in order to strengthen immigration inspection procedures and ensure entry security, passengers of the above-mentioned nationalities may be required to provide additional information during immigration clearance, including:
- Purpose of travel;
- Accommodation address in Laos;
- Sponsor/inviting party information (if any);
- Return air ticket or onward travel itinerary;
- Other relevant documents as required by the local authorities.
To facilitate the immigration process, passengers are advised to prepare all necessary information and supporting documents prior to travel.
Passport
Passenger passports must be valid for at least six months from the first date of entry and contain 2 blank pages.
Visa
Vietnamese citizens are exempt from visas to enter Laos for a stay of up to 30 days for the purpose of visiting relatives or tourism. According to the regulations, Vietnamese citizens who stay in Laos for longer than 30 days must apply for a visa.
Passengers from certain countries can apply for an e-visa to enter Laos; visit the e-visa information web page for more details and follow the instructions.
Entry declaration form
The entry form will be distributed and filled out during the flight or at the arrival airport.
Quarantine regulations
International visitors to Laos will no longer have to declare their health or Covid-19 vaccination status from December 23, 2022.
Cash regulations
According to regulations, passengers can bring up to USD 2,500 in cash into Laos without declaring it. Passengers carrying more than the above amount of cash must declare it to customs upon entry.
