Taxes and service charges stipulated by the Vietnamese authorities

Passenger service charge - International (JC code)

• Passengers from 12 years old: the charge ranges from USD 8 to USD 25 (exclusive of VAT) per passenger depending on different airports.
• For children from 2 to under 12 years old: 50% of the above charge.
• Infants under 02 years old: no charge.

Passenger service charge - Domestic (AX code)

• Children aged 02 to under 12 years: 50% of the above fees.
• Infants under 02 years: No charge.

Passenger and baggage security screening service charge (C4 code)

• For Vietnam domestic flights: 
  • Adults (from 12 years old): VND 18,181 per passenger. 
  • For children (from 02 to under 12 years old): VND 9,091 per passenger. 
  • Infants (under 02 years old): Free of charge. 
  • The above prices are not subject to value-added tax (VAT). 

• For international flights departing from Vietnam: 
  • Adults (from 12 years old): From USD 1.5 to USD 2 per passenger, subject to the time of ticket issuance. 
  • For children (from 02 to under 12 years old): 50% of the adult fare. 
  • Infants (under 02 years old): Free of charge.

Value Added Tax (UE code)

• An 8% tax applies to tickets issued or reissued from 01 July 2025 to 31 December 2026.
• A 10% tax applies to tickets issued or reissued on or after 01 January 2027.

The policy of service charge refund applicable to nonrefundable tickets

Vietnam Airlines implements a policy for refunding service charges collected by Vietnam Airlines on behalf of the relevant authorities. The refund policy for such collected service charges is as follows:

• Applicable to unused passenger service charges for international and domestic flights (JC/AX codes) and security screening charges (C4 code).
• This policy applies to tickets with non-refundable conditions purchased via the Vietnam Airlines website/mobile application or at Vietnam Airlines ticket offices/official agents.
• Refunds will be subject to a processing fee in accordance with the regulations applicable to each market or sales channel. If the processing fee is equal to or higher than the total refundable taxes and charges, no refund will be provided.
