From Vietnam to Thailand

Before departure, passengers need to fully prepare the necessary documents required for flying from Vietnam to international destinations, such as air tickets, valid passports, and forms of identification. In addition, passengers flying from Vietnam to Singapore should be aware of the following document requirements.


Passport

Passengers' passports must be valid for at least six months from the first date of entry.


Visa

Starting from July 15, 2024, Vietnamese citizens are exempt from visa requirements for entry into Thailand for a stay of no more than 60 days, provided they have a return air ticket and confirmed accommodation. Vietnamese citizens who intend to stay longer than 60 days must apply for a visa to enter Thailand in accordance with regulations. Thailand grants visa exemption to citizens of 93 countries, with the length of stay varying up to 60 days depending on bilateral agreements. Please visit the Visa Exemption and Bilateral Agreements section for more information.


Entry declaration form

From May 1, 2025, all foreign visitors entering Thailand are required to complete the online Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) at least 3 days before entry. Visitors can submit declarations using Thailand's official e-declaration website.

For more details on the declaration steps, please refer to the following instructions:

  • Visit the website: Go to the e-declaration page and select "Arrival Card" to start the declaration process.
  • Fill in the personal information: Including full name, nationality, passport number, date of birth, gender, phone number, and email address.
  • Provide trip information: Enter your Thailand arrival date, flight number, means of transport, and accommodation address.
  • Health declaration (if required): If passengers come from a country or region on the watch list of the Thai Ministry of Public Health, the system will require additional information about their health status and travel history in the last 14 days.
  • Information confirmation: Double-check all the information entered, then click "Submit" to send the form.
  • Receive confirmation: Once submitted, passengers will receive an email confirming the completion of the TDAC declaration. Passengers can download or print the TDAC from the registered email address and present it during immigration.

Financial proofing

Depending on the case, tourists may or may not be required by immigration officers to provide proof of financial means. The Thai Ministry of Interior stipulates the amount of money that foreign nationals must carry upon entry, based on specific circumstances. Quarantine regulations

Starting from October 1, 2022, the Ministry of Public Health of Thailand announced that international travelers are no longer required to present proof of COVID-19 vaccination, ATK test results, or RT-PCR test results upon entry into Thailand. Cash regulations

According to regulations, passengers are allowed to bring up to 50,000 baht in cash into Thailand without the need to declare it. If carrying more than this amount, passengers must declare it to customs upon entry.


Pet regulations

Pets are classified as restricted import goods. Therefore, passengers must obtain an import permit from the Department of Livestock Development when bringing pets into Thailand. Regulations on food, meat, and plants

Thailand has tight regulations for bringing food, meat, or plants into the country.

Food

Food brought into Thailand for personal consumption must comply with quantity limits, and the total weight of all items must not exceed 20 kg. For detailed information, passengers are advised to visit the Importing Products into Thailand website.

Plants and plant products

Plants are listed as restricted items for import into Thailand. Therefore, passengers intending to bring plants into the country must prepare the necessary documents to present to customs upon entry.
