Second update: Vietnam Airlines would like to inform the passengers entering into Janpan to comply with the following requirements:
From 0:00 on January 14, 2021, those with a valid Visa are still permite to entry into Japan until 0.00:00 on January 21, 2021, but must comply with the regulations of the Japanes Government as below:
- For those who have negative covid-19 result at the airport, they will be on home quarantine for 14 days and in compliance with Japanese government regulations, cases of non-compliance will be subject to probation under quarantine law. and will have your status canceled, deported to your home country.
- Those who have positive result (+) at airport, they will be isolated at the accommodation establishment as designated by the COVID-19 Prevention Committee of Japan.
This rule does not apply to passengers who are Japanese nationals and Diplomatic visitors.

With regards to the coronavirus countermeasures by the Government of Japan, the Japanese government has expanded its state of emergency and tightens its immigration and quarantine regulations as follows:
- The operation of “Business Track” and “Residence Track” with all the countries/regions covered under the framework (including Vietnam) will be suspended.
- The new entry of foreign nationals into Japan under these two tracks will not be permitted and the relaxation of restrictions on movement during the period of 14-day quarantine through “Business Track” will no longer be permitted for Japanese nationals and foreign nationals with the status of residence until the state of emergency declaration is lifted.
- Applied on/after 0:00 am (JST) on January 14, 2021.
- But holders of valid visas already issued under “Business Track” or “Residence Track” are in principle permitted to enter Japan until 0:00 am (JST) on January 21, 2021.
- Among foreign nationals who newly enter Japan with valid visas already issued under “Business Track” and “Residence Track”, have to submit the certificate of pre-entry COVID-19 testing result within 72 hours prior to departure.
