UPDATE ON THE TROUBLESHOOTING OF THE ATTACK ON AVIATION IT SYSTEM
With regard to the cyber-attack on a number of aviation IT systems and websites in Viet Nam, including the recent July 29th attack on the page
www.vietnamairlines.com, the Vietnam Aviation Corporation - Vietnam Airlines would like to provide the following updates: 

By 6 am of August 1st, VNA’s IT system has completed testing procedures and resumed its normal operation. The company has worked in close collaboration with experts from the Department of Network Security (Ministry of Public Security), Department of Information Security and Vietnam Computing Emergency Rescue Team (VNCERT) (Ministry of Information and Communications), Viettel, FPT and other partners to isolate, take control, recover and restart the attacked programs as well as to inspect and review other programs to ensure the safety and security of the whole system. Vietnam Airlines has also worked with the Airports Corporation of Vietnam to restore computers at check-in counters at Noi Bai, Tan Son Nhat airports. 

So far, the incident has not caused any effects on the flight safety and business activities of the Corporation. Services offered to our passengers during the time of the incident were not greatly affected thanks to the timely efforts in devising backup plans which were regularly rehearsed and well prepared in terms of equipments and manpower. Vietnam Airlines will work together with the Ministry of Information and Communications, Ministry of Public Security and other partners to strengthen network security.

With regard to the Golden Lotus Program, Vietnam Airlines announces that it will suspend the online function of this program but maintain full benefits and privileges for its members. During this period, customers are advised to contact Vietnam Airlines branches and agents for assistance if needed. At the same time, in order to keep on enjoying tier benefits, privileges and accumulating miles when flying on Vietnam Airlines or on SkyTeam partners, customers are kindly requested to present Golden Lotus membership cards when making reservation, purchasing ticket or check-in at the airports.

Vietnam Airlines highly appreciates the understanding and cooperation from our customers and partners during the handling of this incident. Although necessary measures have been deployed, this incident might has caused our customers, especially Golden Lotus members inevitable inconveniences. Vietnam Airlines would like to express our deepest apologies to all customers for the inconvenience caused by this unwanted event and we look forward to your continued support in the future until the system is completely fixed.
