Charges for bulky baggage

Bulky baggage is considered as a part of baggage allowance, the prepaid baggage/excess baggage charge is applied to the allowance-exceeding amount. Charges for bulky baggage are as follows:

For tickets issued/exchanged before March 1, 2024, passengers should contact Vietnam Airlines' sales offices/agents to learn about the rates for bulky baggage pieces on domestic and international itineraries.

With regards to tickets issued/exchanged from March 1, 2024:

• Weight from over 32kg to 45kg:
  1. In Zone A: USD 130 per piece;
  2. In Zone B, between A and B: USD 170 per piece;
  3. In Zone C, between A/B and C: USD 220 per piece;
  4. In Zone D, between A/B/C and D: USD 250 per piece;
  5. Domestic routes: VND 1,200,000 per piece.
• Weight of over 45kg or total three-dimensional length from over 203cm to 330cm:
  1. In Zone A: USD 150 per piece;
  2. In Zone B, between A and B: USD 230 per piece;
  3. In Zone C, between A/B and C: USD 300 per piece;
  4. In Zone D, between A/B/C and D: USD 320 per piece;
  5. Vietnam domestic (weight above 45kg): VND 1,800,000 per piece.
  6. Vietnam domestic (total three-dimensional length between 203cm and 330cm): VND 2,000,000 per piece.
• Total 3-dimensions length of over 330cm:
  1. In Zone A: USD 200 per piece;
  2. In Zone B, between A and B: USD 280 per piece;
  3. In Zone C, between A/B and C: USD 350 per piece;
  4. In Zone D, between A/B/C and D: USD 370 per piece;
  5. Domestic routes: VND 2,500,000 per piece.

For international itineraries, countries are classified by zone as follows:

Zone A: Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, Hong Kong and Macao.
Zone B: China, South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, India and other countries in Asia and Oceania (except for Zone A and Australia).
Zone C: France, Germany, UK, Russia, Australia, other European and African countries.
Zone D: Countries in the Americas.

Notes: For flights to/from Europe or Australia, a baggage piece weighing more than 32kg will not be accepted for carriage, except for priority cases such as wheelchairs for people with disabilities, medical care equipment, etc. For more information, please contact a Vietnam Airlines branch or Contact Center (at 19001100) at least 72 hours before departure.

Charges for bikes

Bike transport charges are as follows:

• Weight of 23kg or less and total three-dimensional length of 203cm or less:
1. Can be counted towards free baggage allowance;
2. Prepaid baggage change/Excess baggage charge is applied to extra pieces;
3. No oversize fee applies.
• Weight of over 23kg and/or total three-dimensional length of over 203cm:
1. Can be counted towards free baggage allowance;
2. Prepaid/Excess/Bulky baggage charge is applied to excess, oversized, and overweight baggage.
