Transit tour

Passengers who travel on international flights operated by Vietnam Airlines, have a long connecting time at transit airports in Vietnam, and are allowed to transit and make a tour in Vietnam according to the rules & regulations of the Immigration department.

• Tickets issued in Australia/New Zealand connecting via Vietnam to UK/France/Germany/South Korea/Japan/Hong Kong/Taiwan.
• Tickets issued in Germany connecting via Vietnam to Australia/Japan/South Korea/China/Hong Kong/Indonesia/Cambodia/Laos/Malaysia/Singapore/Thailand.
• Tickets issued in France or the UK connecting via Vietnam to Australia/Japan/South Korea/Taiwan/China/Hong Kong/Indonesia/Cambodia/Laos/Malaysia/Singapore/Thailand.
• Tickets issued in the United States connecting via Vietnam to India/Hong Kong/Cambodia/Malaysia/Thailand/Singapore.
• Tickets issued in Laos or Cambodia connecting via Vietnam to Australia/Germany/France/UK/Japan/South Korea/China/USA.
• Tickets issued in Thailand or Malaysia connecting in Vietnam to Australia/Germany/France/UK/Japan/South Korea/China/USA.
• Tickets issued in Indonesia connecting in Vietnam to USA/India/Germany/France/UK/Japan/South Korea/Hong Kong/Taiwan/China.
• Tickets issued in India connecting in Vietnam to Australia/USA/Taiwan/Indonesia/Japan/South Korea/China.
• Tickets issued in Hong Kong/South Korea/Taiwan/China connecting via Vietnam to Australia/Germany/France/UK.
• Tickets issued in Japan connecting via Vietnam to Australia/Germany/France/UK/India.
• Tickets issued in Singapore connecting via Vietnam to Germany/France/UK/US/India/Japan/South Korea.

• Only applicable for flights operated by Vietnam Airlines.
• Transit service is only available on certain routes, booking classes and tour code. Please contact Vietnam Airlines Branches for more details.

The transit service applies to tickets issued from June 19, 2023.

• Program 2: Visit the President Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, One Pillar Pagoda, Temple of Literature, Old Quarter, and Sword Lake by electric bus (Green Travel)

• Program 2: Visit the Independence Palace, Immaculate Conception Cathedral Basilica, Ho Chi Minh City Post Office, Municipal Theater of Ho Chi Minh City, and Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Building

• Program 2: Visit the War Museum, Immaculate Conception Cathedral Basilica, Ho Chi Minh City Post Office, Municipal Theater of Ho Chi Minh City, Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Building, and Ben Thanh Market

  • HANVS/SGNVS: not applicable to overnight flight connecting.
  • HA1/HA2/HA3/HA4/HA5/HA6/HA7/HA8/SG1/SG2/SG3/SG4/SG5/SG6/SG7: the full service includes tour/hotel and visa fee (if applicable).

Passengers with long connecting periods at Noi Bai (Hanoi) and Tan Son Nhat Airport (Ho Chi Minh City) can enjoy transit tours or transit visas at these airports with the following minimum connection time:
• 02 hours for Vietnam domestic itineraries and use transit visa services;
• 08 hours at Noi Bai Airport and 06 hours at Tan Son Nhat Airport for city tour services.

  • The minimum time for service booking:
    1. 8 days before the flight departure for passengers requiring transit visas;
    2. 72 hours before the flight departure for passengers with visa exemption.
  • Eligible passengers can request transit tour services by completing the Transit Tour Request Form and sending it via email to a Vietnam Airlines branch offices. We will contact you to confirm the services.
