Vietnam Airlines divides live animals into transportation groups as follows:

• AVI-01: All live animals with the exclusion of mammals; arthropods, insects, crustaceans (shrimp, crab); frogs; batrachians; oysters; clams, snails, mussels, mollusks, worms, fish, crocodiles, turtles, tortoise, other reptiles. No ventilation required, except big reptiles need ventilation and heating 18^oC
• AVI-02: Large mammals weighing 50 kg or more; pigs; whales, ostriches etc. For safety reasons, Vietnam Airlines does not accept transportation of this group on passenger aircraft.
• AVI-03: Small and medium mammals weight under 50 kg (not including pigs), such as goats, sheep, monkeys, dogs, cats, birds, chickens, ducks, geese weighing from 100 grams or more. Ventilation required.
• AVI-04: Birds less than 100 grams; one day old chicks. High ventilation required
• AVI-05: Animals which can smell unpleasant such as civets, skunks and hyenas… For safety reasons, Vietnam Airlines does not accept transportation of this group on passenger aircraft.
