To be well – prepared for your journey, our advices will bring you a convenient and safe flights with Vietnam Airlines.

Health declaration

Remember to complete the health declaration before coming to the airport as required by Ministry of Health.

According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, passengers without completing health declaration before flight will be refused to transport.

Fill in the information by following the instruction at the website http://tokhaiyte.vn or Vietnam Health Declaration App.

We strongly encourage passengers having COVID – 19 symptoms such as fever, cough, difficulty breathing or fatigue and so on not to fly.

Wearing of a mask

It is compulsory to wear a mask at the airport and on board the aircraft. This is the measure imposed by the government.

Safe disposal of used face mask
Face masks should be replaced after being worn for 4 hours, or when becoming wet or soiled.
The proper use and removal of masks and the proper way to dispose of used masks should be applied.

Respiratory etiquette
Covering the mouth and nose with a paper towel cover or a flexed elbow when sneezing or coughing.

Limiting direct contact 
of any surfaces at the airport and in the aircraft to only when absolutely necessary.

Social Distancing

In order to reduce the number of people in the terminal, the access to the airport terminals should be limited to passengers, crew members and staff only.

Accompanying persons should only be provided access in special circumstances e.g. the escort of persons with reduced mobility.

Passengers are required to prepare all necessary travel documents and ticket for a convenient journey.

Personal Items

We recommend that you carry several masks with you for the duration of your trip, prepare disposable single-use tissues and a bottle of hand sanitizer (<100ml).

Passengers will be served anti-bacterial hand wipes on all flights.

General information

In order to get your journey off to an easy start, passengers are encouraged to complete the check - in process early. Vietnam Airlines offers check-in options that help reducing contact with the airport staff and facilities as much as possible.

Online check-in

Check in for your flight on your mobile, tablet or computer using the Vietnam Airlines app or website.

Kiosk check-in

You may check-in at the kiosks locating at the airport terminals from 24 hours up to 60 minutes (international flights), 45 minutes (domestic flights) before your flight departs.

Telephone check-in

Just with a simple phone call to 1900 6265 from 12 to 2 hours before departure time, you will be assisted to complete the check-in process for your flights in a quick and professional way, allowing you to select the seat you want in advance.

Intown check-in

Passengers can check-in, arrange baggage drop, select seats, receive their boarding passes and baggage tags in advance at our Intown - office and freely enjoy their time before boarding at the airport.

Counter check-in

If you wish to check-in at the airport, our staff will welcome you at Vietnam Airlines check - in counters.

You should proceed to our ""No baggage"" counter for fast check - in if you travel without checked baggage.

At Noi Bai, Da Nang and Tan Son Nhat airport, our check - in staff will assist you with MPOS for reducing queuing time.

Download Digital Entertainment

To ensure safety and limit contact, Vietnam Airlines has made some adjustments to reading materials service. We suggest you download your favorite programs to your mobile devices within 24 hours before your departure.

Passengers travelling on domestic flights will be offered digital entertainment via VNA - FPT Play app, where you can enjoy your favorite programs from 24 hours before scheduled departure time to 6 hours after scheduled arrival time.

At The Departure Airport

Vietnam Airlines will take all the necessary measures to ensure the safety of our customers and staff and maintain safe operations. We kindly request your understanding and would like to share travel tips as below.

Thermal screening

According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, body temperature measurements must be implemented before the flight.

Departing passengers entering the boarding gate must be subjected to thermal screening.

If your temperature is 37.5 °C or higher, or showing symptoms compatible with COVID – 19 such as fever, persistent cough, vomiting, difficulty breathing or other flu – like symptoms, you may be denied boarding.

Cleaning and disinfection

Airport facilities:

We implement cleaning and sanitizing measures to ensure that all passengers travel in optimal health and safety conditions. All substances used are approved by the Ministry of Health.

- Regular disinfection of all our counters and self-service kiosks.
- Disinfectant carpets are placed at pre – boarding area for the health and safety.
- All facilities, and particularly the frequently touched surfaces like handrails, used in the boarding process are frequently cleaned and disinfected.

Aircraft:
All aircraft are thoroughly cleaned with disinfecting substances before departure. Cleaning and disinfection are taken into an account the whole interior, especially at frequently touch surfaces such as overhead bins, cabinets/lockers, seats (tray tables, armrests, passenger control units, and decorative panels), lavatory, etc.
Eurocare - cleaning and disinfecting substances are approved for use on aircraft by WHO and aircraft manufacturer. The application of this disinfectant will not have damaging effects regarding the human health.

The procedure for disinfection is carried out everyday. The whole fleet are sprayed with disinfectants which are left to sit overnight, after aircraft arriving from high risk areas or after a daily operation of low risk periods.

Personal Protective Equipment

Vietnam Airlines provide necessary PPE to all our staff members adapting the priority risk levels and ensure that they are trained in its appropriate use.

On flights with high risk level, Vietnam Airlines provide PPE to all crew members and passengers.

Health declaration

You must also present all the required travel documents and certified health declaration at check in, security and boarding gates.

According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, passengers who fail to complete the health declaration before the flight will be denied boarding.

Please have your travel documents and boarding pass stamped with certified health declaration ready in hands at all touchpoints to reduce queue time.

Face mask

Passengers are required to wear a mask within the airport and inside the aircraft.

Before boarding, passengers are reminded by staff to ensure the appropriate usage of face mask.

The use of face mask:

  • The face mask should be close to the face, covering the nose and mouth completely.
  • When the face mask is on or being removed, the outer layer of the face mask must not be touched to avoid hand contamination.
  • The face mask should be properly disposed of and not be thrown on the cabin floor or placed in the seat covers.

Physical distancing

Physical distance between individuals should be maintained as much as possible at the airport.

Floor markings can assist passengers in maintaining physical distancing at check - in, security and boarding areas.

Hand sanitizer

Passengers remember to wash their hands with water and soap or alcohol based hand sanitizing solution wherever feasible, especially before/after check – in, security check and boarding the aircraft.

Travel documents

You must also present all the required travel documents at check in, security and boarding.

Please have your documents, boarding pass ready in hands at checked points for minimizing time at the queue.

Carry-on Baggage

Please ensure your carry-on baggage comply with the regulations to facilitate a smooth boarding process, thereby reducing queuing time and limiting contact.

During boarding, we check your carry-on baggage against the permitted dimensions, quantity and weight.

For the well-being of all our customers and employees from the departure, Lotus Lounge ensures the safety and maintain the quality of lounge service.

Cleaning and disinfection

We maintain the highest requirements of cleaning across the lounge on all frequently touched surfaces such as food and beverage areas, resting areas, working areas, toilet and bathroom.

Our lounges are completely disinfected on a regular basis using approved disinfecting substances.

Personal Protective Equipment

Lounge staff wear masks and gloves at all times during their duty, especially when serving food and beverage.

Staff is properly trained how to use utensils and equipment when cleaning all high-touch surfaces.

Food and beverage

Food is well cooked and preserved in sealed containers.

Food and beverage are subjected to change based on the risk level in specific periods.

Utensils and cutlery

All meal service utensils and cutlery are washed with detergents, rinsed with demineralized fresh water and sanitized at temperature that kill pathogenic bacteria.

Face mask

Passengers are required to wear a mask at all times when using the Lotus Lounge.

Thermal screening

Departing passengers entering the Lotus Lounge must be subjected to thermal screening.

Social Distancing

Floor markings can assist passengers in maintaining physical distancing in the Lotus Lounge.

Hand sanitizer

All our lounges have sanitizers readily available at the reception desk or in the bathroom, toilet for your use.

On Board

On Board

Vietnam Airlines will continue to adopt precautionary measures to maintain a safe, secure environment for our customers, cabin crew and other employees. On – board services are adjusted to the appropriate necessary to ensure comfort and wellbeing standards for passengers and limit the contact between crew members and passengers. We kindly request your understanding of changes to our in-flight services.

Cleaning of Cabins and Accessories

We follow the aircraft cleaning procedures and use disinfectants approved by the Department of Health and the aircraft manufacturer.
We follow strict hygiene procedures to ensure your safety. Before each and every departure, our aircrafts are thoroughly cleaned:
- Vacuuming of carpets and all seats.
- Cleaning of all hard surfaces (e.g. tray tables, armrests, IFE screens, IFE screen controls, lavatories and other areas with which passengers' hands come into contact)

Disinfection of Aircraft

To ensure the safety of passengers and our staff, we implement effective aircraft cleaning and disinfection with Eurocare products. These substances are approved for use on aircraft by WHO and aircraft manufacturer. The application of this disinfectant will not have damaging effects regarding the human health.

Our staff are equipped with cleaning utensils, substances. Efficient disinfection procedure is dispatched. The whole fleet are sprayed with disinfectants which are left to sit overnight, after aircraft arriving from high risk areas or after a daily operation of low risk periods.

The entire passenger cabin, cockpit, galley and lavatory are rigorously disinfected. Frequently touch surfaces such as overhead bins, cabinets/lockers, seats (tray tables, armrests, passenger control units, and decorative panels), lavatory, etc. are also sprayed with disinfectants.

Food and beverage

Food and beverage are subjected to change based on the risk level in specific periods.

Entertainment

Headsets will be provided to all customers on flights between Hanoi and Hochiminh City operated by wide - bodied aircraft that are equipped with in-flight entertainment. Headsets are carefully refurbished and sanitized before flight.

On A321 Neo aircraft, passengers are able to enjoy inflight entertainment – wireless streaming via personal mobile devices.

Passengers travelling on domestic flights will be offered digital entertainment via VNA - FPT Play app, during 24 hours before departing through 6 hours after landing.

Anti-bacterial hand wipes

We are serving anti-bacterial hand wipes on all of our flights.

Anti - bacterial hand wipes with 65% of Isopropyl alcohol which is endorsed by WHO, Ministry of Health and Aircraft Manufacturer.

Toilets

Anti-bacterial soap is always available in the lavatory.

Lavatories are cleaned before and during the flight with additional wipe down procedures by our cabin crew.

On flights with high risk level, Vietnam Airlines provide PPE to all crew and passengers.

Air Filtration in Cabins

Our aircraft are equipped with an air filtration system consisting of High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filters identical to those used in medical operating rooms. Cabin air is thus completely refreshed every 3 minutes.

These HEPA filters remove more than 99.999% of viral and bacterial contaminants, including those as small as 0.01 micrometer, ensuring the air quality in our cabins fully complies with health standards. Viruses, including coronavirus, whose size ranges from 0.08 to 0.16 micrometers, are systematically removed from the air in this way.

Announcement

Before landing, specific announcements are made on board to inform about destination regulations.

Social Distancing

Passengers are required to keep physical distancing and have the right seat as allocated.

Passengers must not queue in the aisle or the galleys for use of the lavatories. The "available" sign can be easily seen from outside.

Face mask

Passenger are required to wear a mask during the entire flight and until they exit the destination airport.

Other Service Changes

Amenity, Newspaper and Magazine
Due to global Covid - 19 pandemic, some kind of amenity (blanket, slippers, pillow, etc.) and printed publication (except Vietnam Airlines' magazines) are suspended to reduce risk of infection.

Pet on cabin service
Due to the global Covid – 19 pandemic, we are taking extra measures to keep you and your pet safe. That‘s why pets can no longer be transported in the cabin. Pets are carried as checked baggage.
