Skyteam

Being the 2nd largest global airlines alliance, SkyTeam offers seamless services and access to an extensive global network with more destinations, more frequencies and more connectivities.

By March 2016, 20 SkyTeam members include Aeroflot, Aerolíneas Argentinas, Aeromexico, Air Europa, Air France, Alitalia, China Airlines, China Eastern, China Southern, Czech Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Garuda Indonesia, Kenya Airways, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Korean Air, Middle East Airlines, Saudia, Tarom, Vietnam Airlines và Xiamen Air.

SkyTeam offers its 665 million annual passengers a worldwide system of over 16,000 daily flights covering 1,057 destinations in 179 countries.

A key element of the SkyTeam global network is the hub-and-spoke system, which provides unparalleled connectivity and an easy way for customers to travel using member of the same alliance from their departure city to any destinations in the world.

  • Round the World Fare Pass - allows passengers to circle the global via travel on any - or all - of SkyTeam's members. Passengers can buy this fare pass via SkyTeam (website: www.skyteam.biz);
  • America, Europe, Asia, China…. Pare Passes - allows SkyTeam customers who purchase a Trans-Atlantic, Trans-Pacific or Inter-Continental ticket to America, Europe, Asia… also to purchase three or more one-way intra-region flight segments at reduced fares;
  • SkyTeam Global Corporate Contracts - offers corporate travel solutions for multi-national companies;
  • SkyTeam Global Meetings - streamlines the process of arranging travel for large-scale international meetings.
  • Seamless connections with single check-in;
  • Access to more than 636 airport lounges worldwide;
  • Priority check-in, boarding and baggage handling, as well as preferred seating and reciprocal lounge access for Elite Plus and Elite passengers.

SkyTeam member airlines provide passengers with consistently warm and friendly in-flight service without compromising the culture diversity that makes each member distinctive:

  • Passengers receive accurate and timely in-flight information. In addition to the native language of each carrier, English is spoken on every flight;
  • SkyTeam offers its passengers consistent special meals and in-flight video programming includes segments with convenient exercise to help passengers stay comfortable during their flights, and other healthy travel tips.

Members of the Alliance have agreements in place that allow passengers to earn miles toward Elite status, as well as redeem miles, with every SkyTeam airlines.

Frequent flyers are able to obtain Multi-Carrier Awards, enabling them to use SkyTeam carriers with one single award ticket, and offering travel opportunities for fewer miles than before to many destinations.

SkyPriority Service:

  • SkyPriority is a program that serves exclusively high-value customers (First class, Business class and Elite Plus card holder);
  • This service provides high-value customers the priority services at the airports, such as priority check-in counters, priority baggage claim at the arrival airport... Its purpose is to provide customers the convenience and speediness at the airport;
  • This service also ensures the consistency in quality of priority services at the airports in which SkyTeam member airlines are operating.

Eligibility of application

  • This regulation is applied to First/Business class passengers, Vietnam Airlines’ Platinum card holders and SkyTeam Elite Plus card holders on flights operated by Vietnam Airlines or SkyTeam member airlines;
  • This regulation is also applied to First/Business class passengers, Vietnam Airlines’ Platinum card holders or SkyTeam Elite Plus card holders who buy ticket from non- SkyTeam member airlines but travel on a Vietnam Airlines’ or SkyTeam member airlines’ operating flight.

Scope of application

  • This regulation is applied to passenger on international and domestic flights operated by Vietnam Airlines or SkyTeam member airlines;
  • When journey includes connecting segments between SkyTeam member airlines: If a passenger is eligible on one leg (either the first segment or the next one), then he/she is eligible for the whole trip. This regulation is not applied for the return trip;
  • This regulation is not applied to accompanying passenger;
  • Passenger who is voluntarily upgraded will be eligible for SkyPriority from the time of upgrading;
  • Passenger who is upgraded involuntarily will be eligible for SkyPriority from the time of upgrading, but only on the upgraded leg, not for the whole trip;
  • Passenger who is downgraded involuntarily will be eligible for SkyPriority as booked.

Service Standards:

  • The currently service standards to Business passenger, Vietnam Airlines’ GLP members and SkyTeam FFP members shall be remained and applied;
  • SkyPriority passengers experience speed and convenient airport services on the basis of using priority areas and priority lane at all touch points;
  • SkyTeam member airlines place SkyPriority signage at the priority areas and priority lanes to ensure the recognition of passengers;
  • SkyTeam member airlines use “SKY PRIORITY” indicators on boarding pass of SkyPriority eligibility passengers.
