To protect against pandemic, passengers are required to wear a mask at the airport and on board the aircraft.
Safe disposal of used face mask Face masks should be replaced after being worn for 4 hours, or when becoming wet or soiled. The proper use and removal of masks and the proper way to dispose of used masks should be applied.
Respiratory etiquette Covering the mouth and nose with a paper towel cover or a flexed elbow when sneezing or coughing.
Limit direct contact Limit direct contact of any surfaces at the airport and in the aircraft. Limit gathering crowdedly at the airport. Keep your distance from staff and other passengers.
In order to reduce the number of people in the terminal, the access to the airport terminals should be limited to passengers, crew members and staff only.
Accompanying persons should only be provided access in special circumstances e.g. the escort of persons with reduced mobility.

Passengers are required to prepare all necessary travel documents and ticket for a convenient journey.
We recommend that you carry several masks with you for the duration of your trip, prepare disposable single-use tissues and a bottle of hand sanitizer (<100ml).
Passengers will be served anti-bacterial hand wipes on all flights.
In order to get your journey off to an easy start, passengers are encouraged to complete the check - in process early. Vietnam Airlines offers check-in options that help reducing contact with the airport staff and facilities as much as possible.

At Noi Bai, Da Nang and Tan Son Nhat airport, our check - in staff will assist you with MPOS for reducing queuing time.
Passengers travelling on domestic flights will be offered digital entertainment via VNA - FPT Play app, where you can enjoy your favorite programs from 24 hours before scheduled departure time to 6 hours after scheduled arrival time.

Vietnam Airlines staffs will visually check your health before flight. If you show symptoms of COVID - 19 such as fever, persistent cough, vomiting, difficulty in breathing or other flu - like symptoms, you may be denied boarding.
Airport facilities
We implement cleaning measures to ensure that all passengers travel in optimal health and safety conditions Regular cleaning of all our counters, self-service kiosks and the frequently touched surfaces. For flights with high risk level, disinfectant carpets are placed at pre – boarding area for the health and safety.
Aircraft
All aircraft are thoroughly cleaned before departure. Cleaning are taken into an account the whole interior, especially at frequently touch surfaces such as overhead bins, cabinets/lockers, seats (tray tables, armrests, passenger control units, and decorative panels), lavatory, etc. After flights with high risk level, the whole fleet are sprayed with disinfectants which are left to sit overnight, after aircraft arriving from high risk areas or after a daily operation of low risk periods.
Vietnam Airlines provide necessary PPE to all our staff members adapting the priority risk levels and ensure that they are trained in its appropriate use.
On flights with high risk level, Vietnam Airlines provide PPE to all crew members and passengers.
Passengers are required to wear a mask within the airport and inside the aircraft.
Physical distance between individuals should be maintained as much as possible at the airport.
Passengers remember to wash their hands with water and soap or alcohol based hand sanitizing solution wherever feasible, especially before/after check – in, security check and boarding the aircraft.
You must also present all the required travel documents at check in, security and boarding.
Please have your documents, boarding pass ready in hands at checked points for minimizing time at the queue.
Please ensure your carry-on baggage comply with the regulations to facilitate a smooth boarding process, thereby reducing queuing time and limiting contact.
During boarding, we check your carry-on baggage against the permitted dimensions, quantity and weight.
For the well-being of all our customers and employees from the departure, Lotus Lounge ensures the safety and maintain the quality of lounge service.
We maintain the highest requirements of cleaning across the lounge on all frequently touched surfaces such as food and beverage areas, resting areas, working areas, toilet and bathroom.
Our lounges are completely disinfected on a regular basis using approved disinfecting substances.
Lounge staff are equipped with protective gear appropriate to each level of risk at all times during their duty, especially when serving food and beverage. Staff is properly trained how to use utensils and equipment when cleaning all high-touch surfaces.
Food is well cooked and preserved in sealed containers.
Food and beverage are subjected to change based on the risk level in specific periods.
All meal service utensils and cutlery are washed with detergents, rinsed with demineralized fresh water and sanitized at temperature that kill pathogenic bacteria.
Passengers are required to wear a mask at all times when using the Lotus Lounge.
Physical distance between individuals should be maintained as much as possible in the lounge.
All our lounges have sanitizers readily available at the reception desk or in the bathroom, toilet for your use.
Vietnam Airlines will continue to adopt precautionary measures to maintain a safe, secure environment for our customers, cabin crew and other employees.
We follow the aircraft cleaning procedures and use cleaning substances approved by the Department of Health and the aircraft manufacturer. Hygiene procedures are carefully followed to ensure your safety. Before each and every departure, our aircrafts are thoroughly cleaned: - Vacuuming of carpets and all seats. - Cleaning of all hard surfaces (e.g. tray tables, armrests, IFE screens, IFE screen controls, lavatories and other areas with which passengers' hands come into contact).
Headsets will be provided to all customers on flights between Hanoi and Hochiminh City operated by wide - bodied aircraft that are equipped with in-flight entertainment. Headsets are carefully refurbished and sanitized before flight.
On A321 Neo aircraft, passengers are able to enjoy inflight entertainment – wireless streaming via personal mobile devices.
Passengers travelling on domestic flights will be offered digital entertainment via VNA - FPT Play app, during 24 hours before departing through 6 hours after landing.
Anti-bacterial soap is always available in the lavatory.
Lavatories are cleaned before and during the flight with additional wipe down procedures by our cabin crew.
Vietnam Airlines provide necessary PPE to all our staff members in accordance with the risk levels and ensure that they are trained in its appropriate use.
On flights with high risk level, Vietnam Airlines provide PPE to all crew and passengers.
Our aircraft are equipped with an air filtration system consisting of High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filters identical to those used in medical operating rooms. Cabin air is thus completely refreshed every 3 minutes.
These HEPA filters remove more than 99.999% of viral and bacterial contaminants, including those as small as 0.01 micrometer, ensuring the air quality in our cabins fully complies with health standards. Viruses, including coronavirus, whose size ranges from 0.08 to 0.16 micrometers, are systematically removed from the air in this way.
Before landing, specific announcements are made on board to inform about destination regulations.
Passengers are required to keep physical distancing and have the right seat as allocated.
Passengers must not queue in the aisle or the galleys for use of the lavatories. The "available" sign can be easily seen from outside.

Sanitizers are readily available at the destination terminals for usage after picking your baggage from the belt.
