Ashes & Remains

Dead bodies must not be transported in carry-on and checked baggage and must only be transported as cargo.

Remains in the form of ashes can be carried in carry-on or checked baggage if a provincial or city health authority's quarantine permit is available.

Bone remains should only be carried in checked baggage provided that:

  • There must be a provincial or city health authority's quarantine permit for transportation of the remains.
  • Remains must be packaged in accordance with the instructions of the quarantine authorities and put inside a hard box to ensure that no break or smell happens during flight.

Notes: This condition applies to itineraries containing a Vietnam Airlines’ segment. For multi-segment itinerary transported by different airlines, passengers need to contact and get confirmation by the airlines and related countries.
