Vietnam Airlines provides Lotus Sky Tea milk tea (classic flavor and taro flavor) in the form of pre-purchased meals for all flights departuring from Hanoi. 

We will continue to offer a range of meals in addition to milk tea to fulfill the demands of customers.

How to purchase paid meals

    Our paid meal service is provided at least 12 hours before departure time with the following methods:
  • During the process of online ticket purchase on the Vietnam Airlines website;
  • Sign into the Manage Booking section to pre-order their meals after booking tickets.

    Please contact our Customer Service Center (onlinesupport@vietnamairlines.com) to request changes and should be aware of the following minimum meal change times:
  • 24 hours before the new flight's departure time, if the new flight's departure time is sooner than the previous flight's;
  • 24 hours before the previous flight's departure time, if the new flight's departure time is later than the old flight's.
Refunds 

Passengers can request refunds in case:

  • Vietnam Airlines change the flight time by more than 6 hours compared to the original scheduled time,
  • Passengers who ordered meals but were not served on the flight due to the fault of Vietnam Airlines. 

  • Please contact our Customer Service Center (onlinesupport@vietnamairlines.com) to request refunds.

    Sky Sofa

    Sky Sofa

    Sky Sofa is a package of two extra empty seats that will offer our passengers more comfortable, convenient and private row of seats in our Economy cabin. This product is only provided on the routes between Ho Chi Minh city and San Francisco; between Hanoi/Ho Chi Minh city and London/Paris/Frankfurt.


    Eligibility

      Passengers purchasing Sky Sofa should meet the following requirements:
      • Passengers have purchased Flex Economy Class or Classic Economy Class ticket;
      • Sky Sofa is only available for flights between Ho Chi Minh city and San Francisco, between Hanoi/Ho Chi Minh city and London/Paris/Frankfurt operated by Vietnam Airlines.

      Note

      • In order to bring our passengers the most comfortable experience, Vietnam Airlines will arrange seats in accordance with each flight status. Therefore, please do not reserve your seat in advance.
      • Adults accompanying with an infant are not eligible for buying Sky Sofa (as infant must be seated under an oxygen mask).

    • Sky Sofa can be purchased at the following channels:
      1. If passengers haven't purchased the ticket, please contact our ticketing offices, sales agents or purchase Sky Sofa service during the "Online Booking" process on our website.
      2. If passengers have already purchased the ticket and want to purchase Sky Sofa service, please contact our ticketing offices, sales agents or visit "Manage Booking" section on our website.
    • Time to purchase Sky Sofa service for routes from San Francisco to Ho Chi Minh city:
      1. Right before departure time when purchasing service at Vietnam Airlines Branch Office in San Francisco.
      2. At least 6 hours before departure time when purchasing service at other channels. 
    • Time to purchase Sky Sofa service for routes from Ho Chi Minh city to San Francisco, and routes between Hanoi/Ho Chi Minh city and London/Paris/Frankfurt:
      1. Within 15 days to 06 hours before departure time when purchasing service at all channels.

    Sky Sofa charges vary depending on class of ticket and time of purchasing Sky Sofa. Passengers can refer to the following fees:

    • Routes between Ho Chi Minh city and San Francisco:
      1. Flex Economy Class: 500 USD/package;
      2. Classic Economy Class: 600 USD/package.
    • Routes between Hanoi/Ho Chi Minh city and London/Paris/Frankfurt:
      1. Flex Economy Class: 400 USD/package;
      2. Classic Economy Class: 500 USD/package.

    Changes

    In case that passengers change flight date voluntarily:

    • Passengers' tickets are changed according to fare rules. Sky Sofa service is allowed to change, but not allowed to refund;
    • Sky Sofa can be changed at our ticketing offices, sales agents or Customer Care Center via onlinesupport@vietnamairlines.com.
    • Time to change Sky Sofa service for routes from San Francisco to Ho Chi Minh city:
      1. Right before departure time when changing service at Vietnam Airlines Branch Office in San Francisco.
      2. At least 6 hours before departure time when changing service at ticketing offices, sales agents and our Customer Care Center via onlinesupport@vietnamairlines.com
    • Time to purchase Sky Sofa service for routes from Ho Chi Minh city to San Francisco, and routes between Hanoi/Ho Chi Minh city and London/Paris/Frankfurt:
      1. Within 15 days to 06 hours before departure time when changing service at all channels.

    In case that passengers change their routes voluntarily,  passengers' tickets are changed according to fare rules, and Sky Sofa service is not allowed to change.

    In case Vietnam Airlines changes the flight schedule, Sky Sofa will be applied for the new flight.

    Refunds

    Sky Sofa service is not allowed to refund.

    Advance Seat Selection

    Advance Seat Selection

    With advanced seat selection, passengers can enjoy more space to stretch their legs or avoid sitting separately from their friends or family. 
    Vietnam Airlines presents the following seat types:
    • Extra Legroom Seats provide passengers with more space to stretch their legs (e.g., exit row).
    • Forward zone Seats (Aisle/Middle/Window) located closer to the doors allow passengers to be among the first to disembark the plane.
    • Standard Seats: Most seats in Economy class are standard seats except for seats next to emergency exit doors, or those with extra legroom.

    Eligibility passengers
    Advance seat selection is applicable for passengers traveling in flights operated by Vietnam Airlines.
    In case that passengers choose exit row seating, they must meet the following requirements:
    • Are of at least 15 but not over 60 years of age;
    • Are physically able to assist crew if needed, must not be pregnant, nor traveling with infants or pets;
    • Must be able to read and understand instructions required related to emergency evacuation, provided in printed or graphic form and must be able to understand the crew's verbal commands;
    • Must not require an extension seat belt;
    • Must not have any conditions that might prevent passengers from performing any or all evacuation assistance functions (e.g. operating the exit door).
    Applicable class
    Depending on the type of ticket (family fare), passengers may pre-reserve their seats for free or for a small fee. 
    • Business and Premium Economy Class: Free seat selection.  
    • Economy Class:
      1. Economy Flex ticket: Free seat selection.  
      2. Economy Classic ticket: Free seat selection for standard seat. 
      3. Economy Lite/Super Lite ticket: Passengers can pay to reserve their seats from the moment of booking until online check-in (24 hours before flight departure).
    Note
    • Passengers can select their seats free of charge when online check-in opens. Our system may automatically assigns fixed seats for passengers buying Super Lite ticket just before online check-in time. In this case, we can’t guarantee that passengers can travel next to their accompanying person.
    • Please note that the crew in command has the authority to re-seat if there are any doubts about the passengers' ability to perform the evacuation tasks.
    • Adults flying with an infant are not eligible for buying advanced seats (as an infant must be seated under an oxygen mask).
    Advanced seat selection can be made in the following ways:
    • When booking online (Vietnam Airlines' website or mobile app);
    • After booking a flight with us, passengers can log in to Mangage Booking to reserve their seats.
    • Passengers can also book at our ticketing offices and sales agents.

    Reserve a seat

    Charges vary depending on the seat type and flight selected. The charges start from:
    • On Domestic Flights: VND 30,000
    • On International Flights: USD 5 (~ VND 115,000)

    Changes
    The seats will be selected on the new flight in case passengers change their flights after reserving their seats. The advance seat selection can be changed by one of following ways:
    • Passengers contact Vietnam Airlines' ticketing offices, sales agents or in-town check-in counters and pay the difference of seat price (if any). Reserved seats are only allowed to be changed to seat with equal or higher price. 
    • Passengers access Mangage Booking on Vietnam Airlines' website/app to reserve their new seats and pay the full fees (if required).  
    Refunds
    Advance seat selection is only applicable for the selected flight and cannot be refunded. Passengers are allowed to refund in case that they change seats and have paid fees for new advance seat selection. Passengers can request refund for the previously purchased service within 14 days after completing their last flight. Refund for previous seat selection is performed at the place of purchasing service:
    • If passengers purchase their advance seat online (via website or mobile application), please contact our Contact Center via onlinesupport@vietnamairlines.com.
    • If passengers purchased their advance seat at Vietnam Airlines ticketing offices or agents, please contact them.

    Conditions

    • For Vietnam domestic flights, passenger who has an Economy Flex ticket with M class can purchase Upgrade service immediately after ticket issuance. Please find more information about non-upgradable periods on Vietnam's domestic flight segments here.
    • For international flights, passenger with Economy Flex, Economy Classic, Premium Economy Flex or Premium Economy Classic can purchase Upgrade service immediately after ticket issuance. Please find more information about non-upgradable periods on international flight segments here.
    • If the desired seat is available, the upgrade service will be confirmed at the purchase time.
