Vietnam Airlines’ new PSS is a set of comprehensive productions and solutions designed and developed by Sabre Airlines Solutions Inc. (USA), one of the world’s leading companies in the field of technology solutions for the world aviation industry. The Sabre’s solutions have been applied by a number of world’s major carriers such as American Airlines, Gulf Air, Aeroflot… and highly appreciated for its additional convenience of use and management and stability during operation.

The worldwide migration of Vietnam Airlines’ new PSS is planned to take place within 10 – 12 hours starting from 20:00 of May 16th, 2009 (Hanoi time). In order to ensure a smooth implementation, Vietnam Airlines recommends all passengers arrive 30 minutes earlier than usual (i.e. at least 2 hours and 3 hours prior to departure time of domestic and international flights, respectively) during the period between May 16th and May 20th, 2009. Vietnam Airlines hopes to receive passengers’ understanding, sharing and support in its migration process to the new PSS.

The Vietnam Airlines’ migration to the new advanced PSS, together with its purchase orders of modern aircraft of Boeing B787 and Airbus A350 in order to expand the fleet to 104 aircraft by 2015 and its ongoing adherence in SkyTeam Global Airline Alliance, is a strategic step towards enhancing the carrier’s position and competitiveness in the regional and world aviation market.
