How to Upgrade/Maintain Your Lotusmiles Card Tier?

During a qualifying period, a Lotusmiles account needs to earn enough tier miles or segments to maintain its current card tier or upgrade to a higher tier. The new tier card will be valid for 12 months from the month of renewal or upgrade.

The insufficient tier miles/segments can be purchased in the two following forms:

• Purchasing additional tier miles/segments
• Converting bonus miles to tier miles/segments

In the event of a card upgrade, the Lotusmiles program will deliver a new card to the member within 5 days if the card receiver address is in Vietnam and 20 days if the card receiver address is outside of Vietnam.

In addition, members can accelerate their tier-upgrade journey by earning double (x2) or triple (x3) Tier Miles on VN-coded flights operated by Vietnam Airlines for 90 days from the date of enrollment in the Tier Miles Booster package. For more details, please refer HERE.

Purchasing Lotusmiles Tier Miles/Segments

Lotusmiles members who purchase additional tier miles or segments should be aware that:

• Purchased tier miles/segments are valid for card qualification purposes and non-refundable under any circumstances;
• Purchased tier miles can be used for getting awards;
• In the event that the tier miles or segments are acquired as a gift, the buyer must confirm that he or she obtained the recipients' consent;
• If a recipient refuses to accept the gifted card and miles/segments, the person must notify the Lotusmiles Center and return the card within 30 days of receipt. If a refusal notification is received, the Lotusmiles Center will either downgrade the recipient's membership tier to its initial status or close the account.

Charges for Purchasing Tier Miles/Segments

Tier Miles:

Tier miles are sold in plans of 1,000 miles:

• Pricing in Vietnam (VAT exclusive): VND 2,500,000/1,000 miles
• Pricing outside Vietnam: USD 100/1,000 miles

Tier Segments:

• Pricing in Vietnam (VAT exclusive): VND 2,500,000/segment
• Pricing outside Vietnam: USD 100/segment

Purchase on the Vietnam Airlines website or app

• Step 1: Fill out the Purchase Request for Tier Miles form or Purchase Request for Tier Segments form.
• Step 2: Submit the completed application form and make payment at any Vietnam Airlines branch.

Converting Lotusmiles Bonus Miles for Tier Qualification Purposes

Lotusmiles members who convert bonus miles to tier miles or segments should be aware that:

• The converted bonus miles are only valid for tier qualification purposes and non-refundable under any circumstances;
• The maximum amount of qualifying miles/segments for conversion is 20,000 tier miles or 20 tier segments per calendar year (January 1 to December 31).

Charges for Converting Bonus Miles to Tier Miles/Segments

Bonus miles are converted by plan. Each plan is worth 1,000 tier miles or 1 tier segment.

In Vietnam:

• 15,000 bonus miles = 1,000 tier miles or 1 tier segment
• Conversion charge: VND 250,000 per transaction (VAT exclusive)

Outside Vietnam:

• 15,000 bonus miles = 1,000 tier miles or 1 tier segment
• Conversion charge: USD 10 per transaction
