Social Security Vietnam Airlines’ Women’s Union Brings Tet to Those in Need 02/02/2024 For Vietnamese people, Tet – the Lunar New Year – holds a very special place in the heart. Yet, not everyone is fortunate enough to fully experience the joy of Tet. Many still endure hardships — patients suffering from severe illnesses who must welcome the New Year from their hospital beds, for whom the happiness of Tet feels heartbreakingly distant. Understanding these hardships, the Women's Union of the Vietnam Airlines Corporation directed the Women's Union clusters across four regions (Long Bien - Hanoi, Noi Bai, Da Nang, and Tan Son Nhat) to launch social welfare activities ahead of Tet Giap Thin 2024, under the heartfelt message: "Vietnam Airlines Women – Sending Love." At Long Bien – Hanoi: On February 1, 2024, the Women's Union Cluster of Long Bien – Hanoi organized a gift-giving event at the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion, distributing gifts and lucky money envelopes to 900 patients. 300 Vietnam Airlines gift sets and 300 lucky money envelopes (each worth 300,000 VND) were presented to 300 pediatric patients. 600 snack gift bags (valued at 120,000 VND each from Tràng An Confectionery) and 600 lucky money envelopes (300,000 VND each) were given to 600 other patients. Total support value: 351,654,000 VND. At Noi Bai (Hanoi): On February 3, 2024, the Women's Union Cluster at Noi Bai organized a "Zero-VND Stall" at the Vietnam National Children's Hospital, distributing 1,800 gift packages and 400 branded tote bags with Total value: 165,206,000 VND. At Da Nang: On January 19, 2024, the Women's Union Cluster at Da Nang visited and presented gifts to children battling cancer and blood disorders at the Da Nang Hospital for Women and Children. 65 gifts, each including snacks and 1,000,000 VND in cash with Total value: 67,409,000 VND. At Tan Son Nhat: On January 30, 2024, the Women’s Union Cluster at Tan Son Nhat visited and distributed gifts to young patients at the Ho Chi Minh City Children's Hospital. 365 gifts, each including supplies and 500,000 VND in cash with Total value: 201,700,000 VND. Though modest in material value, these gifts carry the heartfelt compassion of all Vietnam Airlines employees. Even though many patients must spend Tet in places no one wishes to be, they are not alone — love and care from the broader community are always by their side.
