With the active help of Ha Tinh provincial authorities, the identity of the owner of the diary has been determined. In March 2023, Mr. Peter Mathews was on his way back to Vietnam on a Vietnam Airlines flight to return the diary to the relatives of liberation soldier Cao Van Tuat.
