Vietnam Airlines’ journey to plant seeds for future forests
From Hanoi to Van Ho, Son La, the 2026 "Gathering Leaves to Restore Forests" journey is recounted through authentic moments: from the opening ceremony and hands planting trees together to the smiles of locals and volunteers amid the green mountain forest.
"Gathering Leaves to Restore Forests" is a program implemented by Vietnam Airlines in collaboration with partners and the community to contribute to forest restoration, biodiversity conservation, and the promotion of a green lifestyle.
The journey began in Hanoi, traversing Northwest roads to reach Van Ho—where new saplings were planted through the collective effort of many hands.
At the opening ceremony, stories about forests and the significance of restoring green spaces were shared. Afterwards, Vietnam Airlines staff and employees, along with local residents and volunteers, went directly into the field to plant, tend, and care for the first saplings.
Amid the mountains and forests, handshakes, conversations, and smiles created simple yet memorable moments. Each person contributed a small part, joining together to perform a deed of greater significance for nature and the community.
From a flycam perspective, the restoration area emerges amidst the green mountain slopes of Van Ho. Today's saplings will need many years to mature, but the journey of forest revival has begun from very concrete hands and actions.
Each sapling today is a commitment to a green future.
