Changes to flights to and from Frankfurt due to the strike impact in Germany


Due to the impact of the airport security staff strike in Germany, Vietnam Airlines announces changes in the departure times of flights to and from Frankfurt Airport on March 6 and 7, 2024.


As a result, the airline will not operate flights from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to Frankfurt on the evening of March 6 and the return flights on the evening of March 7.


Specifically, flights VN37 Hanoi - Frankfurt, VN31 Ho Chi Minh City - Frankfurt on the evening of March 6 will be rescheduled to the evening of March 7. Flights VN36 Frankfurt - Hanoi, VN30 Frankfurt - Ho Chi Minh City on the afternoon of March 7 will be rescheduled to the afternoon of March 8.


Vietnam Airlines deeply regrets having to change operational plans due to the airport strike and hopes for passengers' understanding in this unforeseen situation. Passengers affected by these changes will be assisted by Vietnam Airlines according to current regulations.


The impact of the strike on flights may continue to extend. According to authorities, from 8:00 PM on March 6, 2024, to 7:10 AM on March 9, 2024 (local time), there will be a strike involving ground staff of Lufthansa airline in Germany. This may lead to cancellations or delays of Lufthansa flights.

Also, on March 7-8, 2024 (local time), there will be a train strike in Germany which could affect railway services during this period.

These events do not affect flights operated directly by Vietnam Airlines to Frankfurt, Germany, but may impact connecting passengers on Lufthansa or railway connections.

Therefore, Vietnam Airlines advises as follows:

Vietnam Airlines passengers arriving from or departing to Frankfurt on the below listed flights and connecting with Lufthansa or railway services on March 7-8, 2024 (local time), should actively monitor changes to Lufthansa flight schedules and railway services to adjust travel plans accordingly.'
