Queen’s Beach takes its name from Nam Phuong Queen, the last empress of the Nguyen Dynasty, who favored this beach during her visits to Central Vietnam with Emperor Bao Dai. It later served as a coastal resort for French troops during the colonial period, and has since become a notable tourist destination. The beach is also called “Egg Beach” because of its many rounded stones that resemble bird eggs.

Long ago, a massive cave on Nghiem Kinh Chieu Island could hold hundreds of people. From that day, the island was called "Hon Seo", referring to the "scar" left by the vanished cave.
