1. Participants:
The family head: A member aged 18 or older, who has not joined any family accounts, will be entitled to invite family members to create and join a Family Account. The inviting person will be the Family Account owner – Family head. A Family Account has a minimum of 2 members and maximum of 10 members, including the Family Head and the member being invited. Family members include: Father, Mother (biological); Father-in-law, mother-in-law; Adoptive parents recognized by law; Wife, Husband, Child (biological), Adopted Child recognized by law To join the family account, family members must be Lotusmiles members.
2. Setting up Family Accounts:
Family Head logs in to Lotusmiles account and sends an invitation to family members with proof of family relationship (Notarized copy or photo of Family record / Marriage registration / Birth certificate) in Vietnamese or English, French, German, Russian, Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese. - Members can also contact Vietnam Airlines branches or email Lotusmiles Customer Care Center to set up Family Account. (For Platinum and Gold members: email to vip.lotusmiles@vietnamairlines.com; For Titanium, Silver, Registered members: send email to lotusmiles@vietnamairlines.com for support). - The invited member clicks the link sent via email to confirm consent or decline to participate in the Family Account within 30 days, after 30 days the invitation will expire. - Lotusmiles program will verify the Family Account within 30 days of invited members’ acceptance.
3. Child registration:
- The family head being father/ mother/ adoptive father/ adoptive mother can register up to five children. - If a Family Account has been established, only the head of the Family can register the child (Maximum 5 children, however the Family Account must not exceed 10 people). - To register a child, father/ mother/ adoptive father/ adoptive mother log in to their Lotusmiles accounts, section My Family and apply for the child with proof of family relationship: Notarized copy or photo of Family record / Birth certificate in Vietnamese or English, French, German, Russian, Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese. - After successful registration and validation of the Lotusmiles Program, the child will officially become a member of Family Account.
4. Benefits of the Family Account members:
- The family head has the right to use the whole family's bonus miles to get rewards for himself, or for Family Account members, for the reward nominees in accordance with their membership tier. - The family head can use the bonus miles of all the family members to convert to qualifying miles/sectors for himself. - Members in the Family Account can only use miles in their account. - Only the family head can use bonus miles from the child member's account. Members aged from 2 to under 16 years cannot claim rewards themselves.
5. Leaving the Family Account:
- Leaving the family account is possible after 6 months from the date of membership (the member arranges for this by himself or the head of the household does it). - Members aged 2 to under 16 years cannot leave the Family Account until the age of 16. - The family head can only leave the Family Account after having appointed another member as the new family head, with the consent of the member. In this case, the member – family head should send a request on the change to Lotusmiles Customer Care Center for assistance. - When leaving the Family Account, a member has his bonus miles available at the exit time preserved. - The Family Account ceases to be valid when there is only one member left.
