Environment Continuing the journey of forest regeneration: 'For a Green and Sustainable Vietnam 05/03/2025 The "Contributing Leaves to Mend the Forest" Project Reaches One-Third of Its Journey After Just 1.5 Months The 2024 campaign left a significant mark by contributing to the restoration of damaged forest patches along the limestone mountain corridor bordering Hòa Bình and Sơn La — an area once dubbed the "green lung" of the Northwest. This region is home to the critically endangered Northern White-cheeked Gibbon, listed in the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red List, along with many other species of wild flora and fauna. The campaign attracted tens of thousands of contributions, helping to reforest fragmented forest areas and spreading the message of sustainable tourism. Every Vietnam Airlines flight ticket booked via MoMo contributed to a meaningful reforestation fund. Entering its second year, the "Contributing Leaves to Mend the Forest" 2025 campaign carries the spirit of “regeneration,” calling on the community to join efforts in reforesting Sơn La. For every Vietnam Airlines flight ticket transaction worth 2 million VND or more made through MoMo, or when paying for a ticket via MoMo, customers will automatically contribute 5,000 VND — equivalent to one "Leaf" — to the reforestation fund. Beyond contributing a portion of ticket revenue, MoMo is also opening an additional voluntary donation channel, enabling everyone to participate in reviving the great green forests. The donation program will officially run from March 3, 2025, to December 31, 2025. The "Contributing Leaves to Mend the Forest" 2025 campaign aims to collect 90,000 “Leaves,” equivalent to 500 million VND, to restore broken green patches. (Photo: VNA) Importantly, PanNature — a key partner in the campaign — will take charge of reforestation activities, from seedling preparation to coordination with local authorities and post-planting forest care and protection. This close collaboration among businesses, conservation organizations, and the community ensures the long-term sustainability of the restored forests. The "Contributing Leaves to Mend the Forest" 2025 campaign targets collecting 90,000 “Leaves,” equivalent to 500 million VND, to mend the fragmented green spaces. More importantly, it offers a way for everyone — whether a traveler on a flight or a MoMo user — to become part of the story of nature’s regeneration. With concrete and meaningful steps, Vietnam Airlines, MoMo, and PanNature aim to continue the journey toward a greener Vietnam, where the forests of the Northwest not only recover but also radiate positive energy and inspire enduring community solidarity.
