TTHLB Joins Hands to Ease the Pain of Agent Orange Victims

10/08/2023

As part of the 25th anniversary celebration of TTHLB, on August 9, the Executive Committee of the TTHLB grassroots trade union held a meeting and visited Agent Orange – Dioxin victims in Go Vap and Tan Binh districts, Ho Chi Minh City, where they delivered heartfelt gifts and encouragement.

Agent Orange’s legacy is not just the suffering of a few, but a national pain. Although the war has long ended, its consequences continue—especially for those impacted by the devastating chemical.

In solidarity with the community, TTHLB staff voluntarily contributed to support these victims. This initiative is not only a humanitarian act but also reflects the Vietnamese tradition of "remembering those who came before" and "honoring those who served the nation."

At the event, attendees recalled the heroic memories of Vietnamese soldiers—the "Uncle Ho’s Soldiers"—who bravely fought for national independence. During the program, the team donated 20 gift packages, each worth 1,000,000 VND, to 20 Agent Orange victims, and contributed 6,000,000 VND to the HCMC Association for Victims of Agent Orange – Dioxin.

The total donation was sourced from staff and Party members at TTHLB, as part of the organization’s commitment to charitable and social responsibility.
