What is “secure my fare” functionality?

A passenger found an ideal ticket price but was not ready to buy at that moment. With the "secure my fare" function, passengers can keep the desired fare and have more time to complete their trip plan with only a small fee.

Applicable conditions and fare

The "secure my fare" program allows passengers to keep the ticket price unchanged for a specified duration from the time of booking via the Vietnam Airlines website or app.

For Vietnam domestic itineraries

The secure-my-fare fee for Vietnam domestic flights operated by Vietnam Airlines is as follows:
  • For a booking 3 or 4 days before the departure date, secure the fare within 1 day from the date of booking: VND 70,000/passenger
  • For booking 5 days or more before departure date:
      • ○ Secure the fare within 1 day from the date of booking: VND 70,000/passenger
      ○ Secure the fare within 2 days from the date of booking: VND 80,000/passenger

For international itineraries

The secure-my-fare fee for international flights operated by Vietnam Airlines is as follows:
  • For a booking 7 or 13 days before the departure date, secure the fare within 2 days from the date of booking:
      • ○ Itineraries to Europe/Australia/USA: USD 12/passenger
      ○ Itineraries to Japan/Taiwan: USD 10/passenger
      ○ Other itineraries: USD 7/passenger
  • For booking between 14 and 29 days before departure date:
      • ○ Secure the fare within 2 days from the date of booking;
        ✓ Itineraries to Europe/Australia/USA: USD 12/passenger
        ✓ Itineraries to Japan/Taiwan: USD 10/passenger
        ✓ Other itineraries: USD 7/passenger
      ○ Secure the fare within 3 days from the date of booking:
        ✓ Itineraries to Europe/Australia/USA USD 15/passenger
        ✓ Itineraries to Japan/Taiwan: USD 12/passenger
        ✓ Other itineraries: USD 10/passenger
  • For booking 30 days or more before departure date, only applicable to itineraries to Europe/Australia/USA:
      • ○ Secure the fare within 2 days from the date of booking: USD 12/passenger
      ○ Secure the fare within 3 days from the date of booking: USD 15/passenger
      ○ Secure the fare within 7 days from the date of booking: USD 25/passenger

  • The above fees are VAT exclusive and non-refundable in any case.
