Conditions to become a Platinum member

Members who accumulate 50,000 qualifying miles or 45 qualifying segments will own a Platinum card and enjoy outstanding benefits. The Platinum Card is valid for 12 months from the qualified date. Learn more about the Platinum qualifying criteria.

Benefits for Platinum members

The following benefits for Platinum card owners are similar to SkyTeam's Elite Plus card members.

Benefits from Vietnam Airlines flights

Benefits for Platinum members on VN-code flights operated by Vietnam Airlines.

Priority in aircraft seating:

• Priority in booking confirmation and waiting list at the airport;
• Priority in seat arrangement in case of flight exchange by Vietnam Airlines;
• Priority in empty seat selection when checking in at the airport;
• Get free advance seat selection when purchasing Business/Premium Economy/Economy Flex/Economy Classic tickets between reservation confirmation and 26 hours before flight time;
• Get a 50% discount on advance seat selection fee when purchasing Economy Lite/Economy Super Lite tickets;
• Get a free upgrade to Business Class if the member purchases an Economy or Premium Economy ticket, but when checking in, the seats of the class tickets are full, and Business Class seats are available (priority order applies);
• Get a free upgrade to Premium Economy Class if the member purchases an Economy class ticket that is eligible for mile earning but when checking in, the seats of the class are full and seats of Premium Economy class are available (priority order applies);
• Have a seat guarantee when purchasing tickets for Y class on international flights or Y, B class on domestic flights between Hanoi, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City at least 24 hours before departure time.

Notes:

• Vietnam Airlines' priority order is arranged based on actual passengers in each specific situation.
• Accumulated miles will be awarded based on the seat class of the ticket purchased.

Check-in priority:

A Platinum member and up to 05 companions can check in at the SkyPriority Counters. If the companions use Lotusmiles award tickets, the companion quantity limit will not be applied;
Priority at airport ticket counters and connecting areas (depending on airport availability);
Use priority lanes at the security screening area and immigration area at Noi Bai /Da Nang Airport;
Priority boarding with SkyPriority passengers.

Baggage benefits:

• Priority baggage SkyPriority tags;
• Get 02 more pieces of standard checked baggage (23 kg/piece);
• Carry 01 golf set for free under Vietnam Airlines’ baggage allowance (up to 23 kg, no size limit).

Use of Business Lounges: A Platinum member can invite 01 guest to a Business Lounge at an airport operated by Vietnam Airlines (regardless of the guest's ticket class). The guest must take a flight on Vietnam Airlines or SkyTeam on the same day.

Other offers:

• After each flight, the members will be credited with the miles corresponding to the itineraries and receive an additional 100% of the credited miles.
• The members will receive 2,000 bonus miles in celebration of birthdays.

Benefits from flights of SkyTeam airlines

The benefits for Platinum members of Vietnam Airlines (equivalent to SkyTeam Elite Plus card class) apply to code-shared flights numbered VN. For more details on priority service on flights operated by SkyTeam, please visit www.skyteam.com.

Priority in aircraft seating:

• Have a seat guarantee on an international flight of 6 hours or longer when purchasing an Economy Class ticket at the highest price (depending on each airline's regulations) at least 24 hours before departure time;
• Priority in booking confirmation and waiting list at the airport;
• Priority in empty seat selection when checking in at the airport.

Check-in priority:

• Priority at the ticket and connecting counters;
• Check-in at SkyPriority counters (applicable to international flights);
• Use priority lanes at the security screening area and immigration area (if the service is available at the airport);
• Priority boarding (applicable to international flights).

Baggage benefits:

• Priority baggage tags;
• Get 01 additional piece or 20 kg of checked baggage for free;

Notes:

• Baggage weight and size standards follow the regulations of each airline in SkyTeam;
• Some codeshare flights numbered VN between Hanoi/Ho Chi Minh City and Seoul operated by Korean Air (KE) allow Platinum members to have 1 piece of 32 kg free baggage;
• The baggage allowance does not apply to SkyTeam members with Economy class tickets on KE-operated flights over the Pacific Ocean;
• The baggage allowance does not apply to flights within or between the US and Canada, the US Virgin Islands, or Puerto Rico, or flights to/from Brazil operated by Delta Air Lines.

Use of Business Lounges of airlines in SkyTeam: A Platinum member can invite 01 guest to a Business Lounge or a private lounge when taking an international flight. The guest must have a ticket for a flight operated by Vietnam Airlines or a SkyTeam airline.

Other offers: When taking flights from SkyTeam airlines (except for Garuda Indonesia), the members will be credited with the miles corresponding to the itineraries and receive an additional 100% of the credited miles.

Benefits from non-SkyTeam partner airlines

With diverse cooperation programs, Platinum members can enjoy additional offers from non-SkyTeam partner airlines when taking VN codeshare flights operated by partner airlines.
