What is carry-on baggage?
To ensure safety, carry-on baggage should fit under the passenger seat or baggage compartment in the aircraft cabin. Passengers shall comply with regulations on carry-on baggage regarding weight as follows:
Carry-on baggage for children
Carry-on baggage for children is as follows:
- Children under the age of two may carry one piece of baggage weighing no more than 3 kg, which includes food, diapers, or baby formula, as well as one foldable stroller/pram that fits in the baggage compartment.
- Children aged 02 and up may bring one foldable stroller that will fit in the luggage compartment.
- If there is no space in the baggage: compartment, strollers/prams that fulfill the above carry-on standards will be transported as checked baggage at no cost.
Excess carry-on Baggage
Vietnam Airlines desires to offer passengers a safe, enjoyable, and convenient flight experience. Compliance with hand baggage rules contributes to the safety of passengers and the flight.
Vietnam Airlines charges for excess hand baggage. Please refer to the fare table below:

| Exceeding the weight limit by up to 10kg | Equivalent to the airport checked baggage charge per route for 1 piece |
| Exceeding the standard number of pieces (maximum 10kg) | |
| Exceeding the standard hand baggage size and accepted for carriage | Equivalent to the airport oversize baggage charge per route for 1 piece |
| Exceeding both the standard weight and size limits and accepted for carriage | Equivalent to 2 times the airport excess baggage charge per piece |
