Passengers should contact Vietnam Airlines sales offices to book the service at least 24 hours before the expected departure time.

Passengers should be aware of the following requirements:

Pet type: Dogs and cats aged 10 weeks or older. For pet birds, passengers should register for pet transport service as checked baggage.
Health: Pets must be in good health, completely vaccinated, do not create an unpleasant odor, and do not disturb passengers or their belongings.
Weight: The total weight of the pet and the cage must not exceed 6kg.
Quantity: Each passenger is allowed to bring no more than two pets, and each transport cage may accommodate one pet, except in the following cases:

Transporting two pets who have lived together in the same cage, and the total weight of the 02 pets does not exceed 14kg;
Transport a pet under 6 months old with its mother in the same cage.

The transport cage's dimensions should satisfy the following requirements:

Cages transported in the passenger cabin: The three dimensions (width, length, and height) should not exceed 35cm x 30cm x 20cm. The total weight of the pet and the cage must not exceed 6kg;
Cages transported as checked baggage: The total weight of the pet and the cage must not exceed 32kg.

You need to prepare:

Exit quarantine certificate or a confirmation of departure country/region;
Entry certificate or quarantine station certificate of the destination country/region;
Medical certificate;
Passport etc.

You should bear in mind the following requirements:

Pet type: Dogs, cats aged 10 weeks or older, and bird pets.
Health: Pets transported as checked baggage must be in good health, not sick, fully vaccinated, not emit an unpleasant odor, and not affect passengers or their possessions.
Weight: The total weight of the pet and the cage must not exceed 32kg. If the pet and cage weigh more than 32kg, passengers need to register to transport the pet as cargo.
Quantity: Each flight is allowed to transport a maximum of 09 pets as checked baggage, each passenger is allowed to transport a maximum of 03 pets, and each cage can accommodate 01 pet, except for the following cases:

Transporting two pets who have lived together in the same cage, and the total weight of the 02 pets does not exceed 14kg;
Transport a pet under 6 months old with its mother in the same cage;
Transport a pair of birds in a cage that is covered in fabric.

Pets are not accepted for transport in the following scenarios:

Pregnant pets;
Some dog and cat breeds are sensitive to temperature, humidity, light, pressure, and sound and are vulnerable when flying. Learn more about the list of dog and cat breeds that are not allowed to be transported;
Vietnam Airlines has the right to require a Certificate of Adaptation from passengers or refuse to carry pets if the weather is excessively hot or cold;
If a pet proves disruptive to passengers or crew, the captain may refuse to transport it or move it to the cargo hold.
