The number of children born with birth defects in Vietnam is estimated to be ten times greater than in other nations in the region. This is a result of Agent Orange exposure during the American War. Recognizing this, Vietnam Airlines has collaborated with medical groups to solve problems that affect both domestic and international society.
The combination of the International - State - Military - Private Healthcare system (FTW - Viet Duc Hospital - 108 Hospital - Hong Ngoc Hospital) has a complementary effect, establishing a network of humanitarian medical examination and treatment throughout the country, particularly in the North. The long-term objective is to assist Vietnamese doctors in receiving advanced training, improving treatment for patients.
The partnership's humanitarian mission has led to 8,100 youngsters getting surgery and 88 doctors being trained.
