VNA accompanies Vietnam Special Olympics sports delegation

The departure ceremony was organized by the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City (Department of Culture and Sports), and Special Olympics Vietnam (SOV) to cheer and encourage the athletes before setting off to compete, spreading the Vietnamese spirit  to the world.

The Special Olympics World Games is held every 4 years to create a common playground, a place for people with intellectual disabilities to exchange and learn from around the world, thereby also helping to improve the quality of life, public awareness of this particular disability.

SOV is a member of Special Olympics Asia - Pacific, a member of Special Olympics International since 2008. Over the past four Olympic Games, Vietnamese sports teams with intellectual disabilities have achieved many achievements, contribute to enhancing and affirming the value of people with intellectual disabilities to the community.

Speaking at the Departure Ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Nam Nhan - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports expressed his belief in the strong will, the desire to affirm the values ​​and the goal of spreading the Vietnamese spirit of the sports delegation at the tournament. 

Representative of VNA, Ms. Luu Thi Ngoc Oanh - Deputy Head of Commercial Department of Passengers of Vietnam Branch sent her best wishes to the whole family, the coaching staff as well as athletes participating in the Olympics and athletes will achieve high achievements in the upcoming competition to bring honor to the country.
