Wheelchairs & Travel aids
Conditions for checked baggage transport:
- Batteries used for wheelchairs and mobility aids are wet-cell, non-spill, nickel metal hydride batteries, dry batteries; or
- Batteries used for wheelchairs and mobility aids are wet-cell or Lithium-ion batteries.
Condition for carry-on baggage transport:
- Batteries used for wheelchairs and mobility aids are removable Lithium-ion batteries; or
- Batteries used for wheelchairs and mobility aids do not have the proper design for battery protection.
To get transported as carry-on or checked baggage, wheelchairs and mobility aids are required to meet some special terms of temperature, pressure tolerance, etc. Before a flight, passengers should contact Vietnam Airlines to understand the specific rules for wheelchairs and mobility aids.
