[VnExpress] Vietnam Airlines organizes 'dream journey' for 100 children

Through "The Dream Journey 2026", Vietnam Airlines brings opportunities for learning, career exploration, and skill development to 100 children in special circumstances, on June 9-10.

Vietnam Airlines has coordinated with SpaceSpeakers Group, Meliá Hotels International hotel management group, and Vietnam Children’s Fund Social Enterprise to organize the "The Dream Journey 2026" program. Under the theme "Touching the Flying Dream", the program combines experiential, educational, and career orientation activities, alongside skill training for 100 children in special circumstances from Hanoi and Hai Phong.

On the first day, the children visited the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum to learn about the life and the values that Uncle Ho left for generations of Vietnamese children. The activity contributed to fostering a love for the homeland and country, while arousing a spirit of overcoming difficulties and a sense of learning and training.

Afterward, the children gained practical experience at the aircraft maintenance facility of VAECO, a subsidiary unit of Vietnam Airlines. Through the visit and interaction with engineers and technical mechanics, the children learned about the work behind each safe flight, while approaching a career environment in the aviation industry. The program also helped the children broaden their understanding, nurture their dreams, and shape their future career orientation.

Alongside the experiential activities, the children also participated in cultural and artistic exchanges with artists from SpaceSpeakers Group and attended a Gala Dinner at Meliá Vinpearl Hai Phong Rivera hotel. Accompanying the program for its fifth year, SpaceSpeakers Group dedicated a specific theme song to "The Dream Journey". With the message "Sending love from the heart, so that you feel the affection", the song conveys the spirit of sharing and companionship that the program has pursued over the past 5 years. Artists APJ, Kriss Ngo, Monotape, and LEZII directly guided the children in vocal training, composing, dance practice, and performing.

On the next day, the program continued with teambuilding activities, critical thinking games, and instructional content on drowning prevention skills. Closing the journey, the children were awarded certificates of participation in the "Touching the Flying Dream" program.

Mr. Dang Anh Tuan, Executive Vice President of Vietnam Airlines, expects that each experience in the program will give the children more confidence in themselves, allowing them to boldly pursue their dreams. Beside the mission of connecting people and regions with flights, the unit also desires to connect the hearts, resources, and responsibilities of the community, businesses, and social organizations to together create more good values for children and the community.

That is also a part of the sustainable development commitment that Vietnam Airlines persistently pursues,” Mr. Tuan emphasized.

Co-organizing the program for the fourth consecutive year, Mr. Ignacio Martin, Managing Director of Meliá Hotels International for the Asia-Pacific region, stated that through 'The Dream Journey 2026', the unit wishes to bring meaningful experiences and more faith in a brighter future to the children.

"The Dream Journey 2026" is one of the community activities within the sustainable development framework of Vietnam Airlines. Previously, on April 22, the airline announced the "Green Alliance – Sustainable Development", affirming its commitment to promoting Environmental – Social – Governance (ESG) standards in Vietnam through the companionship of partners and community initiatives.

Through the joint efforts of organizations, businesses, and partners, the program aims to create more learning, experiential, and development opportunities for children in special circumstances. This is also one of the community activities of Vietnam Airlines alongside its mission of connecting through flights.

Implemented since 2022, "The Dream Journey" has become an annual activity of Vietnam Airlines and its partners. Over four seasons of organization, the program has brought more than 400 children in special circumstances from many localities to participate in experiential journeys in Nha Trang, Vung Tau, and Da Nang. Moving into its fifth year, the program selected the Hanoi – Hai Phong journey with many activities combining education, experience, and skill development.
