Wings of Dreams – The 'Young Ambassadors' of Aviation Safety Culture

The event was attended by nearly 50 students from grades 1 to 9, conveying a variety of interesting and useful content. First, to understand the units involved in the operation of a flight, the students visited the Vinh Air Traffic Control Tower.

Here, the students were introduced to aircraft fueling activities at the Vinh Aviation Fuel Company, visited the Departure and Arrival terminals of Vinh Airport, and most excitingly, they became passengers on a simulated VN1234 flight of Vietnam Airlines to experience the real process, including check-in, security screening, and waiting in the departure lounge, just like real passengers.

Throughout the program, the youth union members introduced the students to the rules for flying and aviation safety knowledge. Specially, the students were educated on avoiding actions that could threaten aviation safety, such as: not planting tall trees around the airport’s perimeter, not fishing, grazing livestock, burning straw, flying kites, releasing balloons, using laser pointers, or flying unmanned aerial vehicles near the airport.

Additionally, the students watched a presentation with clips about incidents related to aviation safety violations at various airports, both domestically and internationally. The event left a strong impression with an interactive quiz, a lively exchange, and many exciting and meaningful gifts from Vietnam Airlines.

The program concluded successfully, promising to cultivate more young "Ambassadors of Aviation Safety Culture" in schools and communities, especially in areas surrounding airports.

This event was a meaningful activity by the youth of the aviation industry in the final months of 2024, highlighting the effective collaboration between the Youth Union of Vietnam Airlines' local branch and the Youth Union of Vinh International Airport, contributing positively to the promotion of aviation safety ahead of the upcoming peak period of the Lunar New Year.
