1. An Overview of Bach Ma National Park
Bach Ma National Park is strategically located in Phu Loc District, Thua Thien Hue Province, positioned between the popular tourist destinations of Hue (40km north) and Da Nang (70km south). As such, it's a fantastic addition to any itinerary for those wondering what to see and do in Hue Vietnam. The park forms part of the North Truong Son mountain range, stretching from the East Sea coastline to the Cambodian border, creating a diverse ecosystem that spans multiple elevation zones and habitat types.
Bach Ma National Park spans a total area of nearly 37,500 hectares, making it a large primeval forest hosting a wide array of plant and animal species. It is home to over 2,400 plant species, including rare and endemic ones, and harbors more than 1,700 animal species, including several endangered species such as the red-shanked douc langur, Annamite striped rabbit, and Owston's civet. Among these, 93 species appear on both the Vietnamese Red List and the Global Red List.
