Sky Sofa – Your Private Space in Economy Class
Sky Sofa is a service that provides two adjacent unoccupied seats next to the passenger’s purchased seat, creating a comfortable and private seating row within the Economy Class cabin.
The service is currently available on direct flights operated by Vietnam Airlines between Vietnam and the following destinations:
- Asia: Korea, Japan, India
- Europe/Australia: United Kingdom, France, Germany, Australia, Russia, Italy, Denmark, the Netherlands
- Americas: The United States
To ensure the most convenient experience for passengers, Vietnam Airlines will arrange suitable seating based on the operational conditions of each flight. Therefore, passengers are kindly requested not to select seats in advance.
Sky Sofa options
The Sky Sofa service is subject to actual operational conditions at the time of departure and seat availability on each flight. In cases where the service cannot be provided, Vietnam Airlines will inform passengers as soon as possible. Please refer to the Purchase period of Sky sofa service. for more details.

Passengers seeking extra space to work and relax comfortably-but missed the chance to book early-can now enjoy the last-minute Sky Sofa through two easy purchase options:
- Purchase at the Check-in Counter: Complete check-in and secure three adjacent seats to stretch out, lean back, and enjoy a more private journey without interruptions.
- Purchase at the airport ticket office: A quick and convenient solution for passengers who wish to enjoy extra comfort at the last minute before departure.

Yes. Sky Sofa service is changeable. You can perform in the following ways:
1. Send an email to the Contact Center at onlinesupport@vietnamairlines.com.
2. Contact a sales office or agent for assistance.
- In case of a voluntary change in flight date:
+ The passenger's ticket fare is subject to price conditions. Sky Sofa service is changeable but not refundable;
+ Passengers can change Sky Sofa service at sales offices or agents; or contact the “Contact Center” via the email onlinesupport@vietnamairlines.com.
+ Deadline for service change for the route from San Francisco to Ho Chi Minh City:
- Just before the departure time when changing the service at Vietnam Airlines Branch Office in San Francisco.
- At least 06 hours before departure when changing the service at sales offices or agents or “Contact Center” via the email onlinesupport@vietnamairlines.com.
+ Deadline for changing the service for the routes from Ho Chi Minh City to San Francisco, between Vietnam and Europe/Asia:
+ At least 06 hours before departure when changing the service from all channels.
- In case of a voluntary itinerary change, the passenger ticket is subject to price condition change, and the Sky sofa service is not allowed to change.
- If Vietnam Airlines changes the flight schedule, the passenger's Sky Sofa service shall apply for the new flight.
No. The purchased Sky Sofa service is valid only for the selected flight. As a result, you will not get a refund for the service.
The Sky Sofa rate applicable for direct flights operated by Vietnam Airlines is as follows:
1. Itineraries between Ho Chi Minh City and San Francisco:
Economy Flex: USD 550/package;
Economy Classic: USD 650/package;
Economy Lite: USD 650/package.
2. Itineraries between Vietnam and United Kingdom, France, Germany, Russia, Italy, Denmark, Australia, Netherlands:
Economy Flex: USD 450/package;
Economy Classic: USD 550/package;
Economy Lite: USD 550/package.
3. Itineraries between Vietnam and Japan, South Korea, India:
Economy Flex: USD 250/package;
Economy Classic: USD 350/package;
Economy Lite: USD 350/package.
Please purchase the Sky Sofa service at least 6 hours before departure across all sales channels.
You may purchase the Sky Sofa service last-minute at the airport. Please contact our staff at the check-in counter or Vietnam Airline's ticket office at the airport to check for availability and get assistance with your request, subject to the regulations at each specific airport.
