What is Retroactive Mile Claim?

Forgotten to add your Lotusmiles membership number to your booking and you have flown already? Don't worry! At least 07 days after taking a flight, if the accumulated miles have not been credited to your account, you can request us to add the retroactive missing miles.

How To Claim Your Missing Miles?

  • You can actively submit your mile claim via your membership account on the Vietnam Airlines website or app. Vietnam Airlines recommends passengers to use this online self-service function because it will be processed instantly.
  • Send an email to the Lotusmiles Program:
  • Contact Vietnam Airlines branch offices for direct assistance.

Notes on Claiming Your Missing Miles

Members should retain their air tickets, boarding passes, purchase receipts, or service usage receipts until the retroactive miles are successfully credited to their account and displayed in “Account Information”.

For newly joined Lotusmiles members, flights taken on Vietnam Airlines and SkyTeam airlines within 6 months before the registration date will be credited for retroactively earned miles.

Once a month, Vietnam Airlines will send Lotusmiles Account Statement to the members’ emails. The email content includes the number of miles accumulated and used over the period, etc. In addition, members can check their accumulated miles by logging into their account on the Vietnam Airlines' website or app.

Members should always present/quote their Lotusmiles membership number/card when making a reservation, purchasing a flight ticket, or using services from Vietnam Airlines partners to ensure that the miles are automatically credited to their account.

  • China Southern Airlines (CZ)

  • Korean Air (KE)
  • Middle East Airlines (ME)
  • Pacific Airlines (BL)
  • Saudi Arabian Airlines (SV)

For Non-Airline Partners

For non-airline partners, members can request retroactive miles within 06 months from the date of the transaction.


Instructions on Retroactive Mile Claim

Option 1: Request to Credit Missing Miles via Member Account (Online Self-Service)

  • Step 1: Access the member's Lotusmiles account on the Vietnam Airlines website or app
  • Step 2: Go to the "Flight Mileage Claim" section (on the Vietnam Airlines website), or the "Claim Missing Miles" section (on the Vietnam Airlines app) and select the airline
  • Step 3: Fill in all of the details regarding the flight that requires retroactive miles, then click "Send"
  • Step 4: After 3 days, retroactive miles will be credited to the member's account
Notes: This form only applies to flights operated by Vietnam Airlines and VN-numbered codeshare flights operated by other airlines. Members may be asked to upload their Passport/ID as proof of identification, as well as copies of your air tickets, boarding passes as proof of travel.

Option 2: Claim Retroactive Miles via Email

Step 1: Send an email with the content to claim retroactive miles to the address of the Lotusmiles program at vip.lotusmiles@vietnamairlines.com (for Million Milers, Platinum, or Gold members) or lotusmiles@vietnamairlines.com (for Titanium, Silver, or Registered members).

The content of the email to request retroactive miles should include the following information:

  • Full name and Lotusmiles card number;
  • Flight or partner’s service proof of transaction.

Please attach one of the following information so that Vietnam Airlines can confirm the transaction made:

  • Scanned copies of boarding passes;
  • Copies or images of e-tickets;
  • Purchase invoices or service usage invoices for retro claim on non-airline partners (with membership name matches the membership card).

Note: For flights on airline partners, please provide images of boarding passes and copies of e-tickets.

Step 2: Wait for responses from the Lotusmiles Program or look up the mile information in the member account.

Option 3: Claim Retroactive Miles at Vietnam Airlines branches

Please visit Vietnam Airlines branches for instructions. Then, wait for responses from the Lotusmiles Program or look up the mile information in the member account.

Typically, Vietnam Airlines processes retroactive mile claims within 07 working days.
