Hanoi, February 09, 2017 – Vietnam Airlines announces that the carrier will officially launch its direct flights between Hanoi and Sydney (Australia) starting March 28th, 2017. There will be three flights/week on the route with the new generation aircraft Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. The flight will depart Hanoi at 11:55pm and depart Sydney at 3:15pm (summer time) and  2:15pm (winter time), the estimated travel time is 9 hours and 35 minutes. This is the third direct flight offered by Vietnam Airlines to Australia, in addition to the routes between Ho Chi Minh city and Sydney/Melbourne.

In celebration of the new flight route inauguration, Vietnam Airlines offers some promotions on ticket purchases. For flights departing from March 28th thru April 28th, two-way tickets will cost a special price at 500 USD/ea (est. 11,990,000 VND). These tickets will be on sale from Feb. 10th to Feb. 28th.

Tickets sold afterwards from Mar. 1st to Mar. 31st will cost around 650USD/ea (est. 14,690,000 VND), applying for flights departing from Mar. 28th thru Jun. 20th. The price does not include taxes and other fees. Ticket price in VND will also be affected by the exchange rate at the time of ticket issuance.
