As of March 2024, visitors accessing the central areas of the valley, including the peaceful villages and scenic stream areas, need to pay entrance fees at the checkpoint on Provincial Road 152.

Reaching Muong Hoa Valley requires a two-step journey that begins with traveling to Sapa town, followed by the final approach to the valley itself.
Step 1: Hanoi to Sapa (320km)
Step 2: Sapa to Muong Hoa Valley (6.1km) From Sapa town center to Muong Hoa Valley: Travel southeast via Cau May Street and Muong Hoa Street for approximately 2.5km. At Mây Lang Thang Wine Bar, turn right onto Provincial Road 152, continue for 3.5km, then turn left at Thuan Duyen grocery store and proceed straight to the valley.
