The National Organ Transplant Coordination Center and Vietnam Airlines Corporation signed a collaboration agreement in 2018. According to this agreement, Vietnam Airlines will arrange free organ transportation and offer the best conditions for the accompanying medical team to use flights to quickly treat patients waiting for organ transplants throughout the country. 

Furthermore, in order to transfer organ tissues in time, VNA has actively developed a separate process for organ transportation activities, as well as established teams to handle emergency support circumstances in real time.

This is an unusual collaboration in comparison to wealthy countries because they transfer organs using separate planes or private helicopters.

Vietnam Airlines was delighted to receive a certificate of recognition from the Minister of Health for excellent achievements in completing successful organ transplant flights as part of the appreciation event for tissue/organ donors of 2019.
