HeForShe Campaign: Awakening Responsibility and Action for Gender Equality

Launched after actress Emma Watson’s inspiring speech at the United Nations, the HeForShe campaign quickly spread to over 200 countries. From the United Kingdom, where the campaign began, to the United States, India, and Sweden, many countries have actively participated, creating meaningful changes in promoting gender equality.
The goal of HeForShe is to eliminate all forms of gender-based discrimination and violence against women and girls. The campaign encourages men and boys not only to be aware but also to take specific actions to create sustainable change. HeForShe has established a platform for positive male role models to stand against gender discrimination and violence, while also engaging leaders from governments, businesses, and social organizations.
Vietnam Airlines Supports the HeForShe Campaign – For the Women Around Us
In Vietnam, the HeForShe campaign has attracted attention and participation from many organizations and individuals. These efforts have not only raised awareness but have also positively impacted the country's economic and social development.
Notably, Vietnam Airlines actively supported the HeForShe campaign through a special flight, number VN1203, from Hanoi to Can Tho on October 1. The flight carried the message "For the Women Around Us," offering passengers gifts such as pink shirts and milk tea, symbolizing the airline's commitment to promoting gender equality.
Pink-themed gifts, characteristic of the HeForShe campaign, were distributed by Vietnam Airlines to passengers.
In addition to the flight, Vietnam Airlines also collaborated with UN Women and related organizations to visit the Can Tho Shelter Center, providing essential goods and financial support to disadvantaged women. These actions not only demonstrated a spirit of compassion but also reaffirmed Vietnam Airlines' efforts to support the community.
The HeForShe campaign is a call to everyone, especially men and boys, to recognize the importance of promoting gender equality. Gender equality is not a distant dream but a reality that can be achieved if we all act together.
