Positioned inside the Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park, it lies just a few dozen meters away from Phong Nha Cave, yet the two are geologically unlinked. This proximity yet separation highlights the region’s complex and multi-layered geological structure.
The cave sits at an elevation of about 200 meters above the Son River and stretches approximately 980 meters into the limestone mountains. From the Phong Nha boat station, visitors must make their way up 583 steps to access the cave.

Tien Son Cave tickets are often sold as part of a combined tour with Phong Nha Cave. However, visitors can also purchase separate tickets for Tien Son only. The entrance fee is typically around VND 80,000 (USD 3) per person, with free admission for children under 1.3 meters and a 50% discount for seniors, covering entry and exploration inside the cave.

If you're planning a trip to Tien Son Cave, aim for the dry season from March to August, when the weather is most suitable for walking and sightseeing. Rainy months, especially from October to December, should be avoided as the cave may close temporarily due to stormy conditions or rising water levels.
Tien Son cave operates daily from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, allowing ample time for exploration. A typical visit takes around 1 - 1.5 hours. However, to enjoy the most beautiful light inside the cave, it’s best to visit around 9:30 to 11:00 in the morning or 1:30 to 3:00 in the afternoon.
