Our handling procedures, aircraft cleaning and disinfection are implemented with the latest hygiene protocols guided by WHO, IATA and Vietnam authorities. 

SkyCare&Protect - a new pledge that all SkyTeam members including Vietnam Airlines implement a series of personal safety standards to protect passengers and employees. This is our commitment to look after customers when they travel across SkyTeam’s network.

Furthermore, Vietnam Airlines deploys effective measures to protect the health of passengers and staff by standardizing for grade level of flight infection risks and applying different preventions. Followings are containment measures for daily commercial flights categorized as low risk flights. We implement further preventive measures for special transport missions to/from high – risk infection regions. Our commitments give passengers the confidence to plan now and travel with Vietnam Airlines.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENT

Health declaration before coming to the airport

Remember to complete the health declaration before coming to Vietnam Airlines’ check-in counter at the airport as required by Ministry of Health.

Fill in the information by following the instruction at the website http://tokhaiyte.vn or Vietnam Health Declaration App (Available on iOS and Android).

Wearing face masks

It is compulsory to wear a mask at the airport and on board the aircraft. This is the measure imposed by the government. We recommend that you carry several masks with you for your personal comfort.

WELL–PREPARED FOR A CONVENIENT JOURNEY

Online check-in (*)

Check in for your flight online here or using the Vietnam Airlines app on your mobile, tablet. It's all part of getting your journey off to an easy start.

Telephone check–in (*) 

Just by making a phone call to 1900 6265 from 12 to 2 hours before departure time, you can go through check-in process and select your seat in advance. This service is available for domestic flights departing from Noi Bai airport (Ha Noi) or Tan Son Nhat airport (Ho Chi Minh City). 

Intown check – in

Passengers can check-in, arrange baggage drop and receive their boarding passes in advance at our intown office, freely enjoy their time before boarding at the airport.

(*) Online/telephone check–in passengers are allowed to go straight to the security area and board the aircraft if they travel without checked baggage on Vietnam domestic flights departing from Noi Bai, Da Nang, Tan Son Nhat, Cam Ranh and Van Don airports.

Advance Seat Selection

Enjoy your preffered seat or sit together with your companions by using our advance seat selection service. Depending on the fare type of your ticket, you may select a seat in advance for free or for some extra fees.

Prepaid Baggage

If you need to take extra bags than your baggage allowance, it's cheaper to prepay online before you get to the airport.

Special Service Request

When you need special assistance because of physical or mental/emotional disability, you can help us to provide the service you need on the ground and during flight. To make the request, please tell us what assistance you require either by call 1900 1100 or register online.

AT THE AIRPORT

Vietnam Airlines will take all the necessary measures to ensure the safety of passengers and maintain safe operations. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and ask for your kind understanding.

TEMPERATURE MEASUREMENT

Your temperature must be below 37.5 °C. If your temperature is higher than this , or showing symptoms compatible with COVID – 19 such as fever, persistent cough, vomiting, diarrhoea, difficulty breathing or other flu – like symptoms, you may be denied boarding.

TRAVEL DOCUMENTS

You must also present all the required travel documents at check in, security and boarding. Please have your documents and boarding pass ready at checked points to reduce waiting time at the queue.
 

HYGIENE MEASURES

Our hygiene measures ensure that all passengers travel in optimal health and safety conditions:
  • Regular disinfection of all our counters and self-service kiosks is strictly implemented
  • Vietnam Airlines has become the first airline in Vietnam to conduct carpet disinfection at pre–boarding area for the health and safety of our passengers and employees.

WEARING MASKS AND GLOVES

Passenger are required by the authority to wear face masks at the airport and during flight.
Our ground staff will also wear masks and gloves, helping our passengers travel with peace of mind.
 

IMPORTANT NOTES

In order to reduce the number of people in the terminal, the access to the airport terminals should be limited to passengers, crew members and staff only. Accompanying persons should only be provided access in special cirtumstances e.g the escort of persons with reduced mobility.
Passengers are strongly advised to wash their hands with water and soap or alcohol-based hand sanitising solution wherever feasible, especiallly before/after check–in, security check and boarding the aircraft.

DURING FLIGHT

Vietnam Airlines will continue to adopt precautionary measures to maintain a safe, secure environment for passengers, cabin crew and other employees. On – board services are adjusted appropriately to ensure the comfort and well-being for passengers and limit the contact between crew members and passengers.We kindly request your understanding of changes to our in-flight services.

MEALS AND DRINK

Meal service has been resumed since 15 MAY 2020. Different kinds of healthy and nutritious meals strengthening the immune system against infection will be served depending on your route and flight time.
For all classes, we will provide individual canned drinks. Natural fresh fruit juice will be served instead of alcohol drinks on business class.

NEWSPAPERS AND MAGAZINES

The provision of newspapers and magazines are suspended, including Vietnam Airlines’ inflight magazines in the seat pockets.

ENTERTAINMENT

Headsets will be provided to all customers on flights between Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City operating by wide - bodied aircraft that equipped with in-flight entertainment. Headsets are carefully re-furbished and sanitised before flight.

On A321 Neo aircraft, passengers are able to enjoy in-flight entertainment – wireless streaming via personal mobile devices.

Passengers travelling on domestic flights will be offered digital entertainment via FPT Play app, during 24 hours before departing through 6 hours after landing.

AMENITIES

Blankets are no longer be available on all class.
Blankets will be only offered as requested on special cases. Vietnam Airlines applies systematic changing and washing of blankets for optimal hygiene.

WEARING MASKS AND GLOVES

Passenger are required to wear face masks during flight.
Our cabin attendants will wear masks to reassure passengers using our services. They will also wear gloves when serving food and drink items.
 

PETS ON CABIN SERVICES

Due to the global Covid – 19 pandemic, we are taking extra measures to keep you and your pet safe. That‘s why pet on board service is temporarily suspended, including service dog and emotional support dog. Pets are carried as checked baggage.
For passenger with reduced mobility, Vietnam Airlines bring your escort dog as checked baggage with free of charge. Remember to prepare your dog‘s kennel for safe transport.

AIR FILTRATION IN CABINS

Our aircraft are equipped with an air filtration system consisting of High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filters identical to those used in medical operating rooms. Cabin air is thus completely refreshed every 3 minutes. These HEPA filters remove more than 99.999% of viral and bacterial contaminants, including those as small as 0.01 micrometer, ensuring the air quality in our cabins fully complies with health standards. Viruses, including coronavirus, whose size ranges from 0.08 to 0.16 micrometers, are systematically removed from the air in this way.

CLEANING OF CABINS AND ACCESSORIES

We follow strict hygiene procedures to enhance your safety. Before each and every departure, our aircrafts are thoroughly cleaned, including:
  • Vacuuming of carpets and all seats.
  • Cleaning of all hard surfaces (e.g. tablets, armrests, screens, remote controls, toilets and other parts with which passenger's hands come into contact) with approved disinfectants.

DISINFECTION OF CABINS

In order to provide you with the highest level of safety, we have put in place additional hygiene protocols. All aircraft are completely cleaned and disinfected by CH2200 and Netbiokem DSAM. These substances are approved by aircraft manufacturers and will not have damaging effects the human health.

For the well-being of all our customers and employees, we have temporarily implement measures to ensure the safety and maintain the quality of lounge service

 HAND SANITIZER

All our lounges have sanitizer readily available at the reception desk or in the bathroom, toliet for your use.

FOOD AND BEVERAGES

The food and drink are strictly complied with the regulations on food hygiene and safety.
The buffet area is re-designed with more space to ensure guests keep distance when picking up food.
All meal service utensils and cutlery are washed with detergents, rinsed with demineralized fresh water and sanitized at temperature that kill pathogenic bateria.

CLEANING AND DISINFECTION

We maintain the highest levels of cleaning across the lounge with surfaces in washroom and other high -use areas cleaned.
Everyday, all our lounges are completely disinfected using approved cleaning sprays.

WEARING MASKS AND GLOVES

Lounge staff wear mask and gloves during their duty.
All food and drink, the sanitized equipments are handled by staffs with face coverings and hygienic disposable gloves.
Vietnam Airlines' staffs are properly trained on the process of using tools, equipment when cleaning touched surfaces.
