Advance Seat Selection

With advanced seat selection, passengers can enjoy more space to stretch their legs or avoid sitting separately from their friends or family. 
Vietnam Airlines presents the following seat types:
  • Priority seats:
    1. A320/321: First 3 rows in Economy Class;
    2. A350/B787: First 2 rows in Economy Class;
    3. ATR: Last 3 rows.
  • Extra legroom seats: Seats in the rows near the emergency exit. Please check the conditions for seats near the emergency exit.
  • Forward zone seat (Aisle/Middle/Window): Seats in the upper half of the aircraft.
  • Standard seats (Aisle/Middle/Window): Seats in the lower half of the aircraft.

In addition to seat selection priority, Lotusmiles members will earn bonus miles when purchasing this service from May 27, 2025 . Please refer to Earn Miles When Purchasing Ancillary Services for more details.

Eligibility passengers
Advance seat selection is applicable for passengers traveling in flights operated by Vietnam Airlines, Pacific Airlines, Vietnam Air Service.
Applicable class
Depending on the type of ticket (family fare) or Lotusmiles membership tiers, passengers may pre-reserve their seats for free or for a small fee. 
  • Business and Premium Economy Class: Free seat selection.  
  • Economy Class: Paid seats are applicable from the time of ticket purchase to 6 hours before departure time when purchasing services.

  • Lotusmiles members enjoy free seat selection or special offers depending on their membership tier. For more information, please click here.
  • Passengers traveling with children can purchase advance seats but only in certain seats with oxygen masks.
  • Advance seat selection for economy class only applies to certain seat types and fare types.
Advance seat selection can be made in the following ways:
  • During ticket purchase process on Vietnam Airlines' website or mobile app;
  • After booking a flight with us, passengers can log in to "Manage Booking" - "Choose seats" on Vietnam Airlines' website/app;
  • Passengers can also book at our ticketing offices and sales agents.

Passengers can actively select their seats from the time of booking to 6 hours before the flight's departure.

Lotusmiles members should log in before selecting seats online (paid or free seat selection) or ask our ticket office/agent to enter the membership card number to receive our special offers.

Note: Due to operational requirements and aircraft adjustments, the selected seat may be changed. Vietnam Airlines will arrange a new seat that matches passenger's preferences or refund the service fee according to our current policy.

Charges vary depending on the seat type and flight selected. 

Note: To enjoy the discount on seat selection for Lotusmiles members, passengers need to provide membership information when purchasing tickets on Vietnam Airlines website/app; or ask employees to enter the membership card number when purchasing tickets at our ticket offices or agents.

Changes

Passengers should contact the following channels to change their seat selection.

  • If passengers purchase seats on Vietnam Airlines' website/mobile app, please access the Manage Booking section and follow these steps:
  • - Purchase a new seat;
  • - Contact Customer Care Center via email at onlinesupport@vietnamairlines.com to refund the purchased service within 14 days after completing the last flight.
  • If passengers purchase seats through ticketing offices or agents, please contact these channels within 14 days after completing the last flight.

Reserved seats are only allowed to be changed to seat with equal or higher price.

Refunds

Advance seat selection is non-refundable.
