Flights Deliver Donated Organs, Bringing New Life to Two Patients

Specifically, flight VN6160, operated by Pacific Airlines on the Ho Chi Minh City – Hue route, was delayed by 15 minutes to wait for a team of doctors from Hue Central Hospital, who were carrying a donated liver from Cho Ray Hospital. Immediately after landing in Hue, the liver was swiftly transported to Hue Central Hospital to perform a liver transplant for a pediatric patient.

At the same time, flight VN218 from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi, operated by Vietnam Airlines, transported medical teams from Military Hospital 108 and Cho Ray Hospital carrying another donated organ from the same donor, ensuring it arrived in time for a transplant at Military Hospital 108 in Hanoi.

The seamless coordination between airlines, airports, and hospitals ensured that these precious organs were transported within the critical “golden time,” playing a vital role in the success of the transplants.
