Inauguration of the "Marketing & Sales Department Bookshelf" and Launch of Book Review Campaign

In response to Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day—a special occasion to honor the value of books and affirm the role of reading culture in social life—the inauguration of the "Marketing & Sales Bookshelf" reading space and the launch of a book review campaign were implemented as practical activities, helping to ignite a passion for reading among all officers and employees.

In an era of integration and development, characterized by the explosion of social media, artificial intelligence, and digital content platforms, much of our busy lives in the digital age is spent on computer and phone screens for work and information exchange. Sometimes, we lose the ability to interact and connect—between people, and between people and tangible values like a small book. A good book still holds a special value that helps enlighten the mind, heal the soul, and shape character. It is not only an infinite source of knowledge but also a loyal friend, helping us make continuous progress and find peace amidst life's pressures.

Quoting Albert Einstein: “The only thing that you absolutely have to know is the location of the library.” A library or a small corner dedicated to books is more than just a place to store them. Books have long been regarded as the treasure trove of human knowledge, the crystallization of sustainable values in thinking, ethics, and life experience. In the current context, where knowledge-based development has become an inevitable trend, the role of reading culture becomes even more important. Reading helps individuals form systematic thinking, analytical and critical skills, and the cognitive capacity to adapt to society.

Reading culture is not just a beautiful personal habit but also a sustainable foundation of knowledge that builds character and develops the collective. It plays a core role in enhancing knowledge, forming informed, skilled, and responsible citizens, and acts as a "soft lever" for the sustainable development of a collective, organization, or enterprise.

Responding to Official Dispatch No. 954 dated March 30, 2026, of the Central Propaganda and Mobilization Commission, and Official Dispatch No. 931 dated April 16, 2026, of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Finance regarding the organization of Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day (April 21), and the call from the Corporation's Party Committee Propaganda Board, on the afternoon of April 21, Ms. Pham Thi Nguyet—Secretary of the Party Committee and Head of the Marketing & Sales Department—officially launched the book review movement on the "TTBSP – chúng ta" (MSD – Us) Facebook group and inaugurated the "Marketing & Sales Bookshelf" reading space.

The "Marketing & Sales Bookshelf," with a reading space steeped in brand identity, is a wonderful highlight for connecting souls and spreading knowledge within the Department. This sophisticated, modern, and cohesive reading space, though neatly tucked into an office corner, will be deeply cherished by those who love books and long for a reading culture space that embodies corporate humanistic values.

The bookshelf space is organized by thematic groups:

  • Professional Area: Books on Marketing, sales management, aviation trends, 5-star customer service, etc.

  • Soul Area: Essays, gentle philosophy, and wellness books for colleagues to discuss during breaks.

  • Heritage Area: Internal publications and historical documents of Vietnam Airlines in general, and the Marketing & Sales Department in particular, to evoke professional pride among employees.

Additionally, to make Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day more meaningful, the Marketing & Sales Department organized several small activities right in this space. Specifically, "Gift a Book – Grant a Journey" encouraged each employee to contribute a favorite book to the collective shelf along with a bookmark explaining why it is worth reading. The "Golden Hour of Reading" designates 15-30 minutes daily or a periodic afternoon every two weeks for everyone to step away from their computer screens, enjoy tea, and share good pages. Finally, the "Check-in Corner" features a small backdrop with the message: "Marketing Knowledge – Selling Passion through every page" alongside the golden lotus symbol for everyone to capture beautiful moments.

Under the spirit of "Marketing Knowledge – Selling Passion through every page," the book review movement is not only an opportunity to spread knowledge but also a chance for everyone to slow down amidst the hustle and bustle of life, connect with sustainable values, and nurture a spirit of lifelong learning.
