As indicated by its name, the Dragon Bridge, which is shaped like a mighty dragon, spans a length of 666 meters and a width of 37.5 meters across the Han River. The project reached nearly 1.5 trillion VND (USD 88 million), offering six lanes for vehicle traffic and two for pedestrians.
The Dragon Bridge is situated on Nguyen Van Linh Street, acting as the shortest route between Da Nang International Airport and the luxurious coastal resorts of Son Tra - Dien Ngoc. It also provides a more direct pathway to two of the most visited beaches in the city, My Khe and Non Nuoc, on the eastern side. With its head facing East, Dragon Bridge represents Da Nang’s ambition to rise toward the vast East Sea.
The construction on Da Nang Dragon Bridge started in July 2009, and it was officially opened in March 2013 to commemorate Da Nang's 38th anniversary of liberation. Since its opening, the bridge not only became a significant traffic route between the city center and the international airport but also a symbol of Da Nang’s architectural excellence and tourism pride.
