Leading the delegation, Mr. Đào Mạnh Kiên – Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Vietnam Airlines Trade Union – on behalf of all the airline’s employees, personally handed over the gifts of appreciation and conveyed warm regards to the Mothers and war invalids who have sacrificed and dedicated themselves to the nation’s revolutionary cause.
The gifts symbolized meaningful sharing and expressed the profound gratitude of today’s generation for those who devoted their lives to the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.
In an intimate and emotional atmosphere, the delegation listened to stories from the Mothers and war invalids – living witnesses of the nation’s history. Their simple yet powerful words reflected the spirit of patriotism and served as a reminder for the younger generation to uphold the values of peace, compassion, and solidarity.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Đào Mạnh Kiên shared: “We always remember and deeply appreciate the silent sacrifices of the Vietnamese Heroic Mothers and war invalids – those who devoted their youth to the independence and freedom of the nation. Every meeting and every story we hear from them reminds us of the value of today’s peace and the responsibility of future generations. The gifts we bring may be modest, but they represent our sincere affection and gratitude from all Vietnam Airlines employees.”
In Quang Nam (now part of Da Nang), since 1995, Vietnam Airlines has supported 73 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers. Of these, 61 have passed away, while 12 continue to receive regular care and support from the company, with a monthly stipend of VND 1 million each. In addition, on occasions such as Tet, national holidays, War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day, and birthdays, the airline always extends warm visits and greetings.

The visit to Da Nang was part of a nationwide program honoring revolution contributors, marking the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day (July 27, 1947 – July 27, 2025). Earlier, on July 17, 2025, the delegation had also visited and presented gifts to the Rehabilitation Center for Revolution Contributors in Phu Tho Province, which cares for 28 severely wounded veterans from northern provinces. At this center, Vietnam Airlines donated VND 30 million from its Compassion Fund, carrying with it the collective gratitude of the entire company’s staff.
This series of gratitude activities not only spreads a deep humanitarian message but also demonstrates Vietnam Airlines’ strong commitment to the tradition of “When drinking water, remember its source” – a value embedded in the airline’s corporate culture. It is a continuation of the noble values that the national flag carrier has preserved throughout its history, with the mission of connecting the nation and serving its people.
