Baggage Allowance
To find more information about Vietnam Airlines' baggage allowance, passengers should read the following policy.
For tickets issued/reissued/exchanged on/before December 31th, 2019
For tickets issued/reissued/exchanged on/after January 1st, 2020
Note:
Free baggage allowance for infants (under 2 years old):
To/From the Americas: One piece, with a maximum weight of 23kg and sum of dimensions (width + height + depth) not exceeding 115cm (45 in), and one fully collapsible stroller.
Other itineraries: One piece, with a maximum weight of 10kg, and one fully collapsible stroller.
In some cases, the baggage allowances printed on your ticket may differ from the allowance mentioned above. Baggage allowances printed on your ticket will be applied.
If your itinerary includes flights operated by carriers other than Vietnam Airlines, different baggage rules may apply. Please find the full details of your baggage allowances for each flight in your itinerary on your ticket or on the operating carrier’s website before traveling.
For itineraries to/from the Americas, the baggage allowance policy of the first marketing carrier will be applied for the whole route. (The first marketing carrier is the first carrier whose code appears on your ticket).
If the journey includes multiple sectors and carriers, baggage allowances may differ between carriers.
Unless otherwise specified, the maximum weight per piece of baggage is 32kg, and total dimensions may not exceed 203cm. If passengers need to bring overweight and/or oversized baggage, please kindly contact Vietnam Airlines official agents or Vietnam Airlines offices for further information.

Example:
Journey A: BKK VN x/HAN VN LON.
Journey B: LON VN x/HAN VN BKK.
Both journeys are between Asia and Europe; therefore, the free baggage allowance applied for an adult traveling on any of these two journeys is 30kg when flying in Economy Class or 40kg when flying in Premium Economy/ Business Class.

Excess Baggage Fees Paid at Airport
If your baggage exceeds Vietnam Airlines' baggage allowance upon arrival at the airport, passengers are able to purchase excess baggage at the check-in counter.

The maximum weight and total dimensions of standard piece are respectively 23kg/50lb and 158cm/62in.

Special Service Charges
Vietnam Airlines provides special services to satisfy our passenger’s needs at the lowest possible price:

(*) For itineraries to/from the U.S, oxygen for medical use on board is free of charge.
Passengers can optionally order Accompanying Cabin Crew for the above services (except for Unaccompanied Minor).
The Special service charge applies to Vietnam Airlines operated flights only. If the required Special service includes more than one segment on Vietnam Airlines operated flights, the Special service charge shall be the sum of all charges of each segment.
On segments operated by other carriers, Vietnam Airlines follows their Special services policy.
Refund fee is applied if passenger cancels Special Service after reservation and payment
Within 24 hours or after flight departure: 50% of Special service charge including surcharges.
Before 24 hours to flight departure: 10% of Special service charge including surcharges.
Change fee:
Stretch service: If passenger changes after reservation and payment.
+ Within 24 hours or after flight departure: 50% of Special service charge including surcharges.
+ Before 24 hours to flight departure: 10% of Special service charge including surcharge.
Other Special services: Change fee is not applied.
Fees for Special Services on Code-Share Flights
On Vietnam Airlines codeshare flights operated by other airlines the optional services and fees may be provided by Operating carriers with different fees from Vietnam. Please visit the Operating Carriers’website for details.
