Hanoi, July 8, 2024 – Vietnam Airlines has today taken delivery of the newest member to its fleet, the Airbus A320neo. This is an important addition given aircraft shortage due to global engine recalls. This is the first of three Airbus A320neo that Vietnam Airlines will receive this year.
The modern narrow-body Airbus A320neo features next-generation engines, significantly resulting in 16% fuel savings, 75% noise reduction, and 50% lower emissions compared to previous-generation aircraft.
This aircraft has 182 seats and is configured in a two-class layout, with 8 Business Class seats and 174 Economy Class seats, complemented by comfortable upholstery: 28-29-inch seat pitch and 5-inch recline and amenities such as wireless IFE system. These passenger-pleasing cabin enhancements will offer better passenger experience while remaining a strong commitment to environmental protection.
The introduction of the Airbus A320neo reaffirms Vietnam Airlines’ commitment to fleet modernisation and operational enhancement to meet the increasing travel demand, especially during the summer travel season and is set to serve domestic routes such as Hanoi - Dalat, Hanoi - Phu Quoc, Ho Chi Minh City - Thanh Hoa, and Ho Chi Minh City - Chu Lai.
The delivery of Airbus A320neos in 2024 will provide nearly 40,000 seats during the summer peak and 300,000 seats in the second half of the year.
The carrier is expected to receive the wide-body Boeing 787-10s in the near future. Boeing's 787-10 is the largest member of the Dreamliner family and the largest passenger aircraft in Vietnam Airlines’ current fleet.
With new aircraft joining the carrier’s growing fleet. Vietnam Airlines will bring more exceptional convenience and comfort to our customers on every journey.
