Transit tour

Applicable to tickets with the first departure on/after 26 June 2026.

• Tickets issued in Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Italy, Denmark, the Netherlands, or Russia, transiting via Vietnam to/from Australia, Japan, South Korea, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, Cambodia, and Laos.
• Tickets issued in Australia, transiting via Vietnam to/from the Netherlands, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Italy, Denmark, Russia, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, China, and India.
• Tickets issued in the United States, transiting via Vietnam to/from India, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, Cambodia, and Laos.
• Tickets issued in the Philippines, transiting via Vietnam to/from the Netherlands, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Italy, Denmark, Australia, the United States, India, Japan, South Korea, and China.
• Tickets issued in Cambodia or Laos, transiting via Vietnam to/from Australia, the Netherlands, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Italy, Denmark, Russia, the United States, India, Japan, South Korea, and China.
• Tickets issued in Thailand, transiting via Vietnam to/from Australia, the Netherlands, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Italy, Denmark, Russia, the United States, Japan, South Korea, and China.
• Tickets issued in Malaysia, transiting via Vietnam to/from China, South Korea, the Netherlands, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Italy, Denmark, the United States, and Japan.
• Tickets issued in Indonesia, transiting via Vietnam to/from the United States, India, the Netherlands, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Italy, Denmark, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and China.
• Tickets issued in India, transiting via Vietnam to/from Australia, Taiwan, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, China, and the Philippines.
• Tickets issued in Singapore, transiting via Vietnam to/from the Netherlands, Germany, France, Italy, Denmark, the United Kingdom, the United States, Japan, and South Korea.
• Tickets issued in Hong Kong, South Korea, Taiwan, or China, transiting via Vietnam to/from Australia, the Netherlands, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Russia, Italy, and Denmark.
• Tickets issued in Japan, transiting via Vietnam to/from Australia, the United Kingdom, Denmark, the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, France, India, Cambodia, Laos, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines.

Notes:

• Only applicable for flights operated by Vietnam Airlines and the ticket number started with 738.

• Transit service is only available on certain routes, booking classes and tour code. The ineligible class and limitation of routes with tour code can be found here. When the outbound and inbound booking classes differ, the most restrictive rule will apply. Please contact Vietnam Airlines branch office before purchasing ticket.

• In case the place of issue and the country of commencement are not the same, TWOV (Transit Service) conditions of departure will be applied.

• For itineraries from Taiwan to Europe or Australia, passengers departing between June 26 and October 31, 2026 are eligible to apply for transit assistance, regardless of cabin class. Applications must be submitted with the required documents at least 8 business days before departure. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted. Passengers with long connecting periods at Noi Bai (Hanoi) and Tan Son Nhat Airport (Ho Chi Minh City) can enjoy transit tours or transit visas at these airports with the following minimum connection time:
• 02 hours for Vietnam domestic itineraries and use transit visa services;
• 08 hours at Noi Bai Airport and 06 hours at Tan Son Nhat Airport for city tour services.

The minimum time required to book the service (excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and Vietnamese public holidays) is as follows:

• At least 08 days before the flight departure time for passengers who are required to obtain a transit visa;
• At least 72 working hours before the flight departure time for passengers who are exempt from a visa.

Passengers register for the service by filling in all required information on the Request Form for Free City Tour Service and sending it via email to a Vietnam Airlines Branch. We will get back to you once the service has been approved.
