Medical Youth Union of Flight Crew Division 919 Organizes Anti-Drug Awareness Event October 18, 2024 18/10/2024 Attending the Awareness Conference were Lieutenant Colonel Đỗ Ngọc Thắng, Deputy Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit on Drug-Related Crimes of Long Bien District Police, along with other police officers and speakers from Long Bien District Police. Representing Flight Crew Division 919 were Mr. Tô Ngọc Giang, Deputy General Director and Head of Flight Crew Division 919, together with leaders of flight teams and operational departments. Notably, the conference welcomed the enthusiastic participation of numerous youth union members from the flight teams and Cabin Crew Union. Mr. Tô Ngọc Giang, Deputy General Director and Head of Flight Crew Division 919, delivered a speech, emphasizing the importance of raising awareness among youth and employees about the dangers of drugs and the need for proactive prevention measures. At the conference, more than 100 delegates were provided with updates from the Criminal Investigation Unit on Drug-Related Crimes, Long Bien District Police. The session covered the current situation of anti-drug efforts domestically, regionally, and globally; the Party’s directives, State laws, and aviation sector regulations on drug prevention and control; as well as common methods and tactics used by drug traffickers to entice and lure individuals. Mr. Nguyễn Thanh Tùng, Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union of Flight Crew Division 919, delivered a speech on behalf of the organizers. Lieutenant Colonel Đỗ Ngọc Thắng provided attendees with valuable knowledge about drug prevention, helping the audience recognize the characteristics and addictive nature of various drugs (such as opium, morphine, heroin, crystal meth, synthetic marijuana, cannabis) and substances not classified as narcotics but causing similar harm (such as nitrous oxide balloons, shisha, and e-cigarettes). He also shared ways to identify drug users in the community and how to prevent drug crimes effectively. This meaningful activity aimed to equip youth and employees with knowledge and skills to better understand the devastating effects of drugs on individuals, families, and society. It also encouraged changes in mindset and behavior, fostering a proactive stance in "saying no to drugs." Participants were urged to strictly comply with legal regulations, and to avoid using, storing, trading, or transporting illegal substances — contributing to the prevention of drug-related crimes and the building of a safe, healthy, and clean environment. The conference concluded successfully thanks to the close attention of the leadership of Flight Crew Division 919 and the Cabin Crew Division, as well as the contributions of the speakers from Long Bien District Police. It also reaffirmed that ensuring operational safety, passenger health, and employee well-being remains Vietnam Airlines’ highest priority. Along with frequent educational campaigns, VNA consistently conducts inspections and reviews to detect and handle violations promptly, with any infractions being dealt with strictly according to regulations. The conference was marked by the vibrant participation of youth union members from various flight teams and the Cabin Crew Union.
